It’s not often that a washing line has the potential to improve the curb appeal of a home, but somehow Brabantia have managed to do it! I’m new to the world of wall-mounted washing lines, and this WallFix line has opened my eyes to a stylish new type of streamlined way to dry my clothes outside. Brabantia makes hanging out the laundry fun with the Topspinner rotary clothesline. Leaveyour laundry basket in one place, just turn your rotary clothesline and hang your washingwhere you want. The Topspinner really is a top turner, even if it is completely covered inlaundry. But that’s not all: the rotary clothesline is easy to open, and it has extra strong,UV-resistant anti-slip clotheslines. Thanks to the clever umbrella system, the lines are alsoalways tight. The Minky double retractable washing line provides a good value and neat way to dry your clothes outside – great if you don’t have the room for a fixed line. We’re not so keen on: Choose a place that is obstacle-free and somewhere out of reach of the children. Make sure it isn’t too high or too low. If it’s too high, you will struggle to extend it and hang out the washing. If it is too low, it will sag, and your washing will end up on the garden floor. Also, you have to consider where the loose end of the line will go. You need to choose a location that is within reach. At the open end, you will need to fit a hook for the line to attach to, and that’s it. Job done!

One downside of this line is that it’s not very stable in strong winds. Due to its aluminium construction, the arms can bend if they are overloaded and/or subjected to other forces – such as wind. Because of this, it’s best not to use this line if there is more than a slight breeze.We really like this washing line – it’s a great quality unit that gives the impression from the outset that it will be long-lasting. The casing is sturdy, high quality plastic that will withstand extremes of weather, and the Cordomatic’s retractable mechanism is good and strong. Wall mounted washing lines are unlikely to have as much drying space as rotary lines, and are therefore better suited to smaller families. We feel bad including this as one of our cons but the only downside is that this retractable line is a little pricey. However, we do feel its worth the money and we think its one of the best retractable washing lines. The sturdiest lines are made out of steel coated in PVC. This makes them strong and weather-resistant. Typically they last much longer. However, they can also become extremely brittle when exposed to prolonged sunlight. Additionally, if they’re put under excessive loads they tend to stretch and deform to a point where they will not return to their original shape. There are still some fabric/rope/ nylon lines floating about but these do have a shorter lifespan and have proven unpopular over recent years. Fitting a retractable wash line

In addition, they also tend to be manufactured for usability rather than appearance. This is fine if they are outside your home. The fitting instructions are clear and come with a template for positioning the fixings, making it easy to set up. The 5 lines are well spaced so there is plenty of airflow around the clothes for rapid drying. A great value space-saving solution. We’re not so keen on: As a cheaper option, it doesn’t have the same quality as the Brabantia wall mounted line, but then again it doesn’t have the high price tag either.

Once your holes are drilled and your plugs are in, it’s a simple case of bolting the whole thing to the wall. Then you slide the plastic covers on and then snap the protective case into place.
