Earth tones are those colours that you can find in nature. Shades of brown and green that are warm and relaxing in a huge variety of undertones for each colour. They are inviting and calming, so they work great in living rooms, dining rooms or bedrooms walls. With a real vintage feel, B&Q Antique White is great for the creamy quintessential cottage look. I have to admit I didn’t get along with B&Q emulsion due to the poor coverage but was really pleased with the satinwood finish when I painted the furniture in my old spare room. Dulux White Cotton Intense Truffle – Dulux A warm neutral colour with red and yellow undertones giving warmth and intimacy to any room. It is not too bold, looking good in any style and decor. Our first average we look at for Dulux White mist Matt Emulsion paint 5L is to judge it against other products from the same brand, in this case it’s Dulux. Slipper Satin – Farrow & Ball A perfect neutral pale grey chalk that will bring a subtle and sophisticated mood to your room. You can pair it with any other colour. Cool and translucent, Farrow and Ball’s Wevet is another fresh, elegant neutral. With the slightest grey tinge this paint looks great paired with other greys. Farrow & Ball Slipper Satin White Mist – Dulux The White Mist is the perfect shade to achieve a pure white in those rooms with warm light or, a slightly grey hue in cool light rooms. It makes any room brighter bringing a minimal and sophisticated mood. Light changes everything, and because of that, the most important thing to start thinking when choosing the right paint colour is which direction your home is facing. By now, you should know whether you have warm light or cool light in your rooms coming through your windows. 1. In North facing roomsusewarmcolours Blue Gravel – Crown This grey has a beautiful and subtle blue undertone and it can be easily combined with warmer tones.Pure Brilliant White – Dulux Another option of high quality yet affordable pure white paint. Looks great in ceilings and woodwork. White Dove by Benjamin Moore via Satori Design for Living Best Warm White Paint Colours for North-facedrooms These warm white paint colours are perfect for your home if: Decorator’s White (CC-20) – Benjamin Moore Part of the Benjamin Moore Designer Classics Collection, this versatile paint colour can be integrated into a variety of design styles and decors. A classic white favourite, this slightly cool shade will enhance the mood and atmosphere of any living space. Misty Mirror – Dulux Another versatile option for a light neutral grey that could be paired with warm and cool tones equally. Studio Green by Farrow and Ball It can be said that choosing the right neutral paint colours for your walls is not an easy task, but it is definitely important if you want to create the perfect mood for your space.

We have just painted our bathroom in White Mist (Dulux) which is the perfect amount of 'off-whiteness' but it would be too cold of a colour for the rest of the house. We also quite like Timeless (Dulux) except I'm worried that in big quantities it will look a bit like magnolia. White Dove (OC-17) – Benjamin Moore A rich and creamy white paint that it is very popular among designers. This versatile shade looks great in any room and can be combined with other warm or cool colours. I featured this in our recent grey guide too due to the soft grey stone colour. Farrow and Ball Slipper Satin has no cool undertones so really warms up a space. B&Q Antique White Fair White – Edward Bulmer Paint This is the perfect white paint if you want to bring brightness to your interiors but still a very subtle warm grey tone. Now I didn’t have a sample to show of this paint but if you’re after a true, pure white without the coldness of ‘brilliant white’ then this is the paint for you. Originally meant for application after plaster I’ve used Supermatt in White (not brilliant white) in my recent master bedroom makeover (more on that to follow soon) and for me it’s the perfect white. It’s not particularly hard-wearing though so better for lower traffic areas. I only wish I could find a satinwood in the same shade to paint my bedroom furniture. I would bite your hand off if you can make any suggestions. Casper White Quarter SW1H4 by Dulux Australia– a slightly lighter and cooler shade of go-to white with played-down yellow-gray traces; White Mist and the trendy Scandinavian style are like the two halves of one whole that found each other. The cool, slightly meditative, and grayish-white perfectly conveys the atmosphere of the nature of Northern Europe, which is not too generous with sunlight.
