Wow... Explosive... Great to see some old characters making an appearance and the book's twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat.' NetGalley Reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Many thanks to Heather Burnside, Head Of Zeus and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced electronic copy of the book in return for a honest, unbiased review But she is an ambitious woman and it is not long before she owns her own brothel as madam. However, there are downsides to being the boss and she has a huge nightmare on her hands when some enemy from the past makes a reappearance. She also includes events that happened in the inner suburbs of Manchester during the 1990s. These include the 1996 Manchester bombing, the plight of the homeless and the gang wars of the 90s.

As always this author manages to take you on a realistic journey of high drama and fast action with no faffing around but just a well written exciting story After taking a career break to raise two children Heather enrolled on a creative writing course. During that time she had many articles published in well-known magazines and went on to run a writing services business before focusing on her novels.

Great to see some old characters making an appearance and the books twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat.

Blackmail by Heather Burnside | Waterstones

This book is fast-paced, addictive and completely absorbing. I loved Beth's character and was fully invested in her story. She comes across as genuine and believable. Beth turns to Martin a Manchester gangland criminal for help, and Heather's masterly storytelling shows how rounded all people are: bad people do good things and good people do bad things. I am always enthralled with the complexities of the human psyche and non more so than the criminal mind, so really enjoyed this read. Meanwhile, her livelihood is being threatened by gangs who are intimidating her and could just destroy her business. Will she be able to come out of this by beating her tormentors?Candice's boyfriend Thomas Foster's dad offers her a job during the term time as her mother doesn't think its safe for her to work the boutiques. she has a beautiful daughter who she is very close to. somebody from laura"s past is trying to destroy all that she holds dear to her. A brilliantly written book with plenty of drama and tense scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Blackmail: An absolutely gripping and gritty crime thriller

Her writing style probably comes from all manner of influences as she has been known to read anything from autobiographies to sagas and crime thrillers. However, her biggest influence is probably the city of Manchester, which is the setting for most of her work. I LOVED IT!!! Clever, beautifully written and entertaining. And, what is unusual in the mass market of contemporary domestic noir/psychological thrillers, characters you actually care about.' NetGalley Reviewer , ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beth and Brady Harris, eating the most famous Mediterranean food at The Amber Room, The owner Martin Bradshaw, wealthy but most of all good looking.Another exciting read from this author… brilliant can't wait to see if there's another one in the series.' Netgalley Reviewer, ***** Laura Sharples running her five fashion boutiques and trade is blooming with her daughter Candice at university and living in a new four bed house things could not be better for her since her days a s working girl Crystal. I’d like to thank Head of Zeus, Aries and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Guilt’ by Heather Burnside in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. But before she can get out of the game, she will first have to take charge of her own life which starts with revenge. In her quest, she takes something that belongs to Justin, a very dangerous man that happens to have his fingers in a lot of pies. I loved the characters and how Heather tells the story of not only their current situation but does it in a way that made me either love them or hate them. I loved how believable the story felt as it unfolded.
