Description

The most important aspect of any pair of earbuds is the sound quality and the results showed as these buds offer a decent sound but are not perfect. The buds connect to your phone using Bluetooth 5.1 which comes with the following codecs- AAC & SBS. With these codecs, you can expect a frequency range from 20Hz to 20kHz. What you can expect from the audio profile is no lag. The sound quality for phone calls on both earbuds was good, and the dust proof mic worked. The Mini Pro had a slightly better phone call experience since it has ANC. Clear Pairing: place both earbuds in the charging case and hold both buttons for 10 seconds when the LEDs start flashing red and white twice. This means you have reset the earbuds.

In addition, they are IPX5 rated, so they are sweat resistant for workouts, and they have metal mesh over the mics to keep dust and debris out. On the outside of each earpiece is a touch-sensitive control pad, and on the Inside there are 6mm “bio-compound” diaphragm drivers. I have taken a few calls on these and considering the audio quality when listening to music making calls was acceptable quality. You will notice the calls are clear without any interference. Verdict The USB-C charging at this price-point, has until now been unheard of, and that’s worth something on it’s own! The actual earbuds themselves may very well be the best-fitting and most comfortable I’ve ever tried. They just slot in (in one specific way) and fit perfectly. There was no adjusting, no changing rubber bits for the right shape or size, just out of the box comfort. That’s an absolute triumph in itself if we’re being honest.Bassy, v-shape signature, with just enough vocal clarity for me to not mind too much. No peaky treble. Big bass bloat. Great for commute and not much else.

Review of the SoundPEATS Free2 Classic Wireless Earbuds

After weeks of testing these earbuds, we found the sound quality to be good in both. Though you can’t adjust the sound quality with an app in either of these Soundpeats earbuds, you can activate ANC in the Mini Pro which will enhance the sound quality a little more than the Free2 Classic. Both earbuds’ touch controls are sensitive. You really must hold the earbud for more than the allotted time to activate the control. For instance, you are supposed to touch the right earbud for 1.5 seconds to move to the next song. We had to hold our finger on the earbud for more than 2 seconds before the song changed. It’s not a big deal but you need to learn how the touch controls work before you start using the earbuds. If not, you will get frustrating using them especially when out for a run or walk. The Mini Pro earbuds are IPX5 waterproof rated. This means you can wear them when you work out, but you can’t wear them in the pool. The earbuds will get damaged. The SoundPEATS Free2 earbuds will provide low latency for gaming and watching a video. That’s why FPS gaming is a viable option with these headphones by making sure that the sound effects sync properly with your screen at all times. It is a perfect feature that works very well if you are a Fortnite, Battlefield Mobile, or PUBG, it makes a difference but there is still some lag. For watching a video, the sound on your smartphone screen matches what you see on the screen without delay. Call Quality Some audio, such as vocal-rich country music or acoustic guitar was acceptable. The earbuds seem to deliver certain genres more accurately than others. Anything with heavy bass or deep low tones comes across as a bit weak and empty. In fact, it’s obvious that these are budget-friendly headphones; the audio simply doesn’t live up to any kind of hype. And when turned up to a maximum volume level, distortion comes across on all levels. We’re not necessarily saying these are the worst earbuds available, but they’re certainly not as capable as the SoundPEATS Mini Pro. While the SoundPEATS Free2 classic’s build is lightweight, they still feel pretty sturdy and look great. In addition, while the case is entirely made of plastic, the two-tone color scheme and faux leather texture give these earphones a somewhat luxurious feel. The mic isn't good enough for you to survive a conversation while on a noisy bus or in the city BUT do just fine on a walk. The buds should fit into your ear canal with the logos facing right side up. The tips of the earbuds should feel comfortable in your ears without feeling any pressure. Also, make sure you have the correct fitting eartips. The Free2 Classic is a modest offering in terms of what you get in the box, but why should it be anything else? The Free2 Classic earbuds come with a compact charging case with a light indicator to let you know the battery life of the case and earbuds. Note: the earbuds don’t have a light to indicate its battery levels. You must rely on the case for the earbud’s battery life. A flashing blue light means the charging case is charging. A solid blue light means the charging case is fully charged. If you get a red light, it means you must charge the earbuds and case. Audio aside, when you buy some earbuds, you need to know that they’ll withstand the daily in and out of the case and your ear. They’ll manage to survive a drop out of your ear and they’ll control consistently, especially with touch controls! The one issue you will have with these earbuds though is wind noise. The way the earbuds are designed, if you are outside on a windy day listening to music, you are going to hear noise from the wind in your earbuds. Even if you try to get the tightest fit on the ear tips in your ear, it’s not going to work. We have found this to be common with earbuds that use ear tips. Even when in ANC mode, you will hear the wind.

SoundPEATS Free2 Classic Wireless Earbuds Review

The touch controls also seemed to have just the right amount of sensitivity, so I didn’t have to tap over and over to get the earbuds to do what I wanted them to do. If you’ve been on the hunt for a pair of affordable wireless earbuds, you likely have come across SoundPEATS. Best known for their affordable audio products, they’ve been busy creating their new releases for 2022. Recently, we had the pleasure of testing and reviewing their new Mini Pro wireless earbuds. Simply put, we fell in love with them. Ultimately, they offered the right blend of sound quality and comfort, all within a reasonable price-point. Who would like to use these earbuds? If you are a music lover who wants a full sounding earbud with the ability to adjust the sound quality, neither of these earbuds are right for you. These earbuds are more for the cost conscious who want a reliable earbud with good sound. For instance, the Free2 Classic earbuds are good quality earbuds for your kids or someone who is a first-time user of wireless earbuds. They are inexpensive and come with good battery life and decent sound quality. Mini Pro earbuds also come with dust proof microphones and 7 Hours of single playtime on an initial charge. The earbuds are charged using the supplied USB-C cable. It will take you about 1.5 hours to full charge the Mini Pro earbuds which you will do using the charging case. The key thing you will notice about the design is the very slim profile they are much smaller than other TWS I have tested. I found when testing the fit on my son these buds fit nicely as he has smaller ears. If you have larger ears you may want to consider changing the eartips for a larger pair which will help with that passive isolation.Power On: To automatically power on, open the lid of the charging case and take out both earbuds. To manually power them on, press and hold either side for 1.5 seconds. The charging case has no remaining power. The case can’t turn off the earbuds if the case battery is dead. Using the Free2 Classic wireless earbuds for making or receiving a phone call is easy. Tapping either earbud two times will answer an incoming call and automatically pause your music at the same time. The audio quality is acceptable, capable of transmitting clear voice without any noticeable distortion. We tested calls in three seperate instances and each time we had no complaints in regards to the audio quality or wireless transmission. Great looks, comfortable fit, and excellent sound make these earphones an impulse buy for those looking for affordable true wireless earbuds without ANC. Intro I’d suggest that the more modern pop songs that have been compressed within an inch of their lives. Coated in that sugary-sweet production, will sound excellent and that’s absolutely fine. The Free2 Classic isn’t about audiophile-levels of quality, but I promise you, you could do far worse for thirty quid.
