Description

A highlighter, also called a fluorescent pen is a type of writing device used to bring attention to sections of text by marking them with a vivid, translucent colour. [1]

You might be surprised by how much innovation there is in the seemingly simple world of highlighters. It still surprises us, and we're a pen shop, so we should be used to this sort of thing by now. Everyone knows about the classic Stabilo Boss highlighter, but did you know they are refillable? Did you know there's an executive version of the Boss, with rubber grips, and a different ink that's less prone to smudging inkjet print and fountain pen ink? Most highlighters use liquid ink and function similarly to felt-tip pens or markers. Liquid highlighters have the widest selection of colors, tip features, and body designs. Varieties with broad tips or wet ink flow may bleed through paper. This is so that you can highlight areas of text that are of interest, or need to be brought to attention. We tested brightness on Rhodia paper and broke it into tiers of "low," "medium" and "high." Low brightness indicates a soft, translucent color, while high brightness is almost startling. Gray Type markers all include grayish fineliners, which we found dark enough to be legible without being obtrusive; Color Type markers all have matching fineliners, suited to color-coding. Mark+ 2 Way pens allow you to highlight and write notes without switching to another pen.

Then, choose your shade: If you have fair or light skin, try a pearl or champagne color; for medium skin, one with gold or rose gold tones; and dark skin, a hue that's bronze-based. In addition to classic highlighter pens, STAEDTLER also offers gel highlighters. These highlighters have a twist lead, so there is no sharpening necessary. They are available in yellow, pink, orange and green. These highlighters have a gel-like wax lead, enabling approximately 3 mm wide highlighting. The wax lead provides a soft writing experience, and one of its main advantages is that it does not bleed through paper. Some highlighters interact with other writing meda and cause them to smear, even if the text is completely dry. As a general rule, gel pen ink, fountain pen ink, and inkjet printing are the most likely to react with highlighters. I was looking for something to use for highlighting and defining my brows instead of concealer and a brush and this is perfect! The answer to this really depends on the user and their preferences, but when it comes to making a mark that really stands out, the classic fluorescent yellow is a popular choice, as is light blue and orange. That said, to ease reading, pastel colours have grown in popularity in recent years, with the softer hue being more gentle on the eyes. How did we choose the best highlighters for our guide

I've used it for my brows, inner corners of my eyes, Cupid's bow, as eyeshadow base and even used the pearly side as a highlighter for my cheekbones. Good to know: The markers are INKJET SAFE, so will not smudge on inkjet printouts or handwritten text. Perfect Eyes Duo highlights the eyebrow arch and creates points of light, brightening the face andenhancing make up radiance. Different pens and inks can have widely divergent formulas and react differently to the same highlighter. In addition, the paper you write on can make ink more or less likely to smear. We used Rhodia paper and tested our highlighters against some of the most popular options in each category of writing instrument. Other pens, inks, and papers may react differently.

Dry highlighters are a bit of a different solution to the problem - essentially highlighting pencils, with bright neon lead - great if you tend to leave the lids off your highlighters.

The Kokuyo Beetle tip highlighter can highlight in three different ways from one highlighter in the shape of a 'normal' pen. Fine, broad or even double-lined. The Frixion Light applies the same great erasable technology used in Pilot's Frixion pens to the field of highlighting.I love that it's a 2-in-1 product and it has so many uses. It is very creamy and the colour payoff is great. This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources.
