These sets offer a concise building experience, making them suitable for quick builds or as collectible items for fans of the Star Wars universe. Still I'd pick the RAS over this one anytime - mostly because we've seen so many X-wing minis during the past 10+ years of LEGO Star Wars. Annoyingly, the two curved slopes that are meant to act as supports do not have enough clutch power, and pop off every few minutes when the X-wing is on the stand. Unfortunately, the tricky shaping does mean that the panels still have a little bit of wiggle room on the final model, but they do look good.
