Seeing these awesome new Joy-Con colors got me thinking about how many other colors I could think of in the existing lineup. And why aren’t you? Video games don’t always need to be bold, and frantic, and exciting. Sometimes — a lot of the time when you’re playing certain Switch games — they’re calm, and contemplative, and relaxing. Just like this photo of the pastel Joy-Cons.

Though perhaps most reminiscent of the limited edition Animal Crossing Joy-Cons, the new colours are completely brand new and have never been released before. I don’t think I have to explain to you how adorable these look. And these are not just for the ladies; boys can like pastel too! The only colors that are exclusive to the particular side of the controller are the left side purple and right side orange. Editor’s note: These don’t appear to be on the My Nintendo Australia store just yet, but we’ll update you with pricing and availability once they are. — David Nintendo just announced that they are going to be releasing not one, but TWO new pastel colored Joy-Con sets for the Switch.

As far as specs go, these should be exactly the same as previous Joy-Cons. There’s no new hardware inside to speak of. Depending on the game, you might use a single Joy Con in each hand—or even give the second one to a friend. Or if that angle doesn’t cut it, you can always just play the “Summer” card like Nintendo is here in the official announcement, which says the controllers will be out on June 30: Either way, it’s very likely that more will come available and you might just be able to walk into any major retailer and grab your set on June 30th. These will look incredible in your hands while playing something cozy like Animal Crossing or Doom Eternal… you know, the sweetest of games.
