Mr Fox is a very clever fox - every evening he creeps down into the valley and helps himself to food from the nearby farms. mean that it gives reason for me to get yelled at by some idiot who can't understand just because the computer says we have something doesn't mean we really do (we don't have computers that know when someone has stolen something without our noticing it).

Little did I know that I was craving a comfort read in 2019 but would need a horde of them, by 2020!Mr Fox is so clever that every evening he creeps down into the valley and helps himself to food from their farms - and those GHASTLY farmers can't catch him! but the violence doesn’t go into any real detail and these events get passed over quickly with ease. It is not a fluffy read, it does have lots of scheming and violence that might scare the youngest of readers, but it is not too graphic or too scary, but does add tension to the tale – the farmers use guns and shoot Mr Fox’s tail off, Mr Fox kills chickens with a quick snap of his jaw etc. But for the time being this lesson is adequate: enough for a child to understand without bogging it down even more. These farms belong to three different mean and greedy farmers, one fat, one short and one lean: Farmer Boggis has a farm full of plump chickens, Farmer Bunce has a farm full of juicy duck and geese and Farmer Bean has a farm filled with turkeys and apples.
