Designed as a ‘prequel’ to the LICC Fruitfulness on the Frontline course, Loved and Liked aims to enable people to explore who they are as diverse individuals inhabiting different stories and carrying different joys and hurts. It invites participants todareto discover yet more of the God who knows us by name, loves us and calls us to go on becoming who we have been created to be.

Written by bestselling author and respected spiritual guide David Runcorn, the book's approach is exploratory rather than prescriptive, provoking questions rather than offering answers. It does not assume too much Bible knowledge, so that the style feels welcoming to those on the edge of committed faith or church, as well as BRF's to established Lent book audience. Dust and Glory: A Lent Journey of faith, failure and forgiveness offers a daily Bible reading, a short reflection and a practical challenge, as well as a prayer linked to the week’s theme. Co-written by Bishop Emma Ineson and Abbie Martin, the booklet is designed to be used either in parallel with the Lent Book or independently. An accompanying children’s version will also be available to help children and their families explore how we can live well together, offering a simple daily activity designed to explore the weekly themes. At the heart of the Christian message is a collection of abstract nouns: love; sin; forgiveness; grace. It is quite difficult to explain what the gospel message is without using some or all of those words. But the problem with abstract nouns is that when we use them, we assume that the person we are talking to understands them, and not only that, we assume that they have the same understanding of the word that we do…" Resources for Lent 2023 from the Church of England #DustAndGlory: A Lent journey of faith, failure and forgiveness

Dust and Glory - Lent 2023 from the Church of England #DustAndGlory: A Lent journey of faith, failure and forgiveness This is afree six-session course helping churches explore the connection between social action, discipleship and growth. Dust and Glory encourages us to take a fresh look at the frustrations and failings that every day brings and, rather than pretending we can always avoid them, seek to learn from them and grow closer to God through them. The Archbishops say "This Lent we are all invited to explore how we can live well with the mess of everyday life. Living in Love and Faith, is a major new exploration of Christian teaching and learning about identity, sexuality, relationships, and marriage. The LLF course aims to help Christians think more deeply about what it means to be human. It provides a structured and accessible way for local groups to engage in and reflect on the issues at hand. Each of the five sessions explores one key topic, with an opening reflection about learning together, followed by teaching, time for discussion, and Bible study. The sessions end with an invitation to reflect on our learning, bringing it to God in prayer.Inthis year’s BRF Lent book, Sally Welch explores two questions: What is the Easter story really about, and how do we share it? The two courses use a mixture of research, videos, and discussion to help broaden people’s horizons for everyday discipleship. An update to the award-winning Church of England campaigns app for iOS and Android – including daily audio – will be available in mid-February. Anyone who has the Church of England’s #FollowTheStar app installed will automatically get the Lent update.
