Once they’re glued you can glue on your pom pom nose and santa hat bobble, then add in face details with your black and red markers. The production process is traditional and non-mechanised; each section of the star is printed using traditional methods, the perforations in the design hand punched, the tissue paper cut and fixed in place by hand and the star assembled using geometric skill and accuracy. I love using my Silhouette Cameo to quickly cut out paper decor projects, but you can also use scissors and an x-acto knife. Now you can leave your lanterns whatever color you made them out of… or have fun spray painting them. Or as a lantern with a set of battery operated LED fairy lights inside – either hang the star, or invert over a lamp stand for stability.

Of course, you can always resize your lanterns, just make sure you lock the aspect ration and resize all pieces the same amount. Then, draw some lines from the bottom of the beard all the way up to just past Santa’s face then cut along the lines.
