Waffle-weave towels, like The Citizenry Mara Organic Waffle Bath Towel Set, are not as plush as your standard terrycloth towel, but they are absorbent, lightweight, and fast-drying. These are characterized by a honeycomb pattern on the surface of the towel. Just imagine it: the early morning sun is shining weakly through your bedroom curtains. You get out of bed, ready for a big day at work. You jump into a piping hot shower and then wrap yourself in a large fluffy towel that’s been gently warming on the radiator. Bliss. Take that large fluffy towel away though and you’re scuppered, which is why we have an extensive towel range, to make sure your day gets off to the perfect start. What’s your favourite towel colour? Fabric fibres are made into thread or yarn and then twisted together. The direction of the spin is called a twist. The lower the twist in a yard, the more plush, soft and absorbent the towel will be. A higher twist will create a tighter and stronger weave, which will result in a more durable towel. It’s important to strike the right balance between durability and softness so that your towels stay looking and feeling great for as long as possible. How many towels do I need? This particular towel was the priciest of the winners I tested. While a higher price tag doesn’t always equate to a higher-quality product, after testing these towels, I believe the Matouk Milagro towels are worth every penny. I found myself looking forward to using them each time the opportunity came up in my testing rotation. Plus, after several months of long-term testing, I still find myself reaching for the Matouk bath towels, despite preferring a larger bath sheet—they’re that soft and luxurious. Pairing the bath man with a pedestal mat that wraps around the toilet is a great way to add colour to a bathroom. Beach Towel

Also known as washcloths, these small, square towels are used to wash your body or face. Face clothsare also helpful to pat your face dry after washing to avoid spreading any bacteria from other towels. Most tend to be sold in a set of two. Bathmat Finally, to determine overall durability, I washed each towel three times, separately, on a hot, heavy-duty cycle. After each wash cycle, I ran the towel through the hottest dryer cycle before repeating my process. I noted which of the towel’s fibers had come loose, if any, whether any seemed stiffer or softer after washing and if any had lost dye or vibrancy along the way. This everyday towel gets plenty of usage drying hands after hand washing and is found close to the sink in a bathroom. It also makes for a great decorative accent in a bathroom, whether you choose to add a printed towel or a pop of colour. Face Cloths BATT squeegee is engineered from a high density polyethylene foam making it ideal for water removal and durability When it comes to sourcing towels for clients, Laura Pankonien of Austin-based interior design firm The Pankonien Group says that coziness is of paramount importance: “We source high-quality Turkish and Egyptian cotton in a 500 to 600 gram weight for that ultra-cozy hotel spa feel that our clients love.”We tested this towel in our own homes for three months, and we still love it. The construction quality and absorbency are still excellent, especially compared to other similarly priced options. While not as soft as it was upon arrival, it’s still exceptionally plush. Other than that, the towel remains in excellent shape and has definitely become a favorite.

Almost all of the towels I tested were made of 100% cotton. This seems simple enough, but it’s actually quite a complex category. Descriptors like “Supima” and “long-staple” abounded, and I found myself curious about the origins of each type of cotton, too. Sean Cormier, chair of the textile development and marketing department at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, helped to break down these terms, noting that different species of cotton relate to staple (or fiber) length in different ways. This, in turn, relates to the length of a single fiber within a “boll” of cotton, or the little puffballs that grow on cotton plants. Cotton is broken down into three staple lengths: short staple (the most common type), long staple and extra-long staple. Generally speaking, longer-staple cotton yields a final product that’s softer and stronger. Most of the cotton grown in the United States is Upland cotton, and it’s great when used to make items such as jeans or flannels. But when it comes to sheets and towels, long-staple cotton (such as Turkish cotton) or extra-long-staple cotton (such as Pima, Supima or Egyptian cotton) are preferable. Construction in this case refers to the type of weave showcased by each towel. In my tests, I skipped the category of Turkish towels altogether and instead dealt with waffle-weave and terry options (not to be confused with terry towels made from Turkish cotton). Terry towels have tightly woven loops that give them a soft and fluffy feel, while waffle-weave towels have raised threads that form small squares or rectangles. In terms of size, bath towels are usually about 30 inches by 56 inches, some larger and some smaller. I was pleasantly surprised by all the bath towels I tested, which fit comfortably around me. Plushness, Weight And Feel As you shop for towels, it’s important to know towels are categorized by their construction. Each types has its own set of strengths and weaknesses:According to Cormier, the longer the staple (or fiber), the better and stronger the cotton. Staple length is correlated with the growing region of particular cotton species, and while Turkish cotton falls into the long staple category, the staple of Egyptian cotton is even longer, placing it in the extra-long staple category. Many of the towels I tested are made with Turkish cotton, which is highly durable and great for everyday use, but if your budget allows, splurging on Egyptian cotton can yield an even longer-lasting towel. What Kind Of Bath Towel Is Most Absorbent? Material: Turkish cotton | Construction: Terry | Size: 30 x 58 inches | Weight: 550 GSM | Absorbency: 93.75% | Colors: 9

This towel is smaller than a hand towel and is used for drying hands in the bathroom. They are ideal for a powder room or a guest bathroom and are typically sold in sets of two. Our guest towelsare made from 640gsm fabric with a double twist pile to maximise the surface area, resulting in a luxuriously soft and full towel. Hand TowelsIn terms of durability, it maintained the same texture after we washed and dried it. It passed our abrasion tests with flying colors, and we didn’t notice any snags or loose threads, proving the strength of the thread fibers. We applied foundation and mascara to the material, and both stains completely came out in the wash. From a simple (and very affordable) hand towel to a complete bundle of luxurious Egyptian cotton towels, our collection has just what you need. The essential, do-it-all bath towelgets used for drying your body or wrapping wet hair after a shower. It is a versatile towel that is ideal for everyday use, whether that be after a shower or for taking to the gym with you. Bath Sheets Material: Long-staple Turkish cotton | Construction: Terry | Size: 30 x 58 inches | Weight: 700 GSM | Absorbency: 97.5% | Colors: 27 Not necessarily classified as a towel, a bathmatis an essential piece of bathroom linen. It helps to absorb any water as you step out of the shower or the bath, thus avoiding any mishaps from slipping on wet floor tiles. For a bathmat, the optimum material is 100% cotton as it is highly absorbent and dries fast. A plush towel can provide a soft and luxurious feel when drying off after a steamy shower, allowing for a more comfortable and enjoyable experience compared to thinner, rougher towels. Southern Living’s Turkish Cotton & Modal Bath Towel boasts a fluffy and plush texture we couldn’t get enough of. ( Southern Living is owned by The Spruce’s parent company, Dotdash Meredith.) We also were impressed with its visually appealing design, which featured a decorative series of five double-welts on each end rather than the standard band. The loops seemed on and compact, and we found no visible imperfections upon arrival. This towel was definitely on the heavier side at 700 grams per square meter (GSM), which means it has a dense, sturdy construction.I tested five other bath towels that didn’t make the final cut—but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth looking into. Each of the following options offers something helpful to the user, and they’re bound to make certain types of shoppers very happy. Those other options are: We understand that choosing the right towels can be difficult. When purchasing towels, there are three factors to consider: material, weight and size. To ensure longevity, you must choose the right towels for your hotel, apartment, Airbnb or home. Believe it or not, but the towel sizes play a significant role in making your guests feel clean and comfortable in your accommodation. As a wholesale supplier of high-quality towels, we’re best placed to help you out. Material: Turkish cotton | Construction: Z-twist | Size: 30 x 58 inches | Weight: 820 GSM | Absorbency: 97.5% | Colors: 12 There are some key performance differences associated with various towel weights that are important to factor into your purchasing decision. For instance, products with a low GSM typically dry faster but aren’t as absorbent. An example of this is a lightweight beach towel. On the other hand, heavy towels with a high GSM are the most absorbent and plush, but as such, they will take longer to dry.
