As always, there’s a crop of new content on Warhammer+ this week. Citadel Colour Masterclass shows you how to paint muzzle burn on your gun barrels, while there’s a Battle Report from the Mortal Realms which finds the Thunderstrike-armoured Stormcast Eternals take on the Kruleboyz. Finally, Part One of Imperial Armour: The Siege of Vraks makes it to the Warhammer Vault, alongside issues 360 and 361 of White Dwarf.

At first glance, this looks like the obligatory medic specialist. However this is chaos, so you should know better. Instead the Corpseman is a combination buffer and healer who can use his Stimms (1 APL) ability to produce one of three different effects:

Operatives

This set comprises 151 plastic components and is supplied with 10x Citadel 25mm Round Base, 1x Citadel 32mm Round Base, and 1x Citadel 40mm Round Base. Frag and Krak Grenades [2 and 3 EP] – Unchanged from those employed by all the other Kill Teams. Bring frag if facing hordes, bring Krak if facing elites, pretty standard. It includes Harbinger of Dread rules to strike fear into your foes, the new Warp Storm psychic disciple, 32 unique stratagems, special rules for six especially unpleasant Dread Houses, a suite of Crusade rules in which your own house follows the Eightfold Path of Damnation, and 10 datasheets to field a range of these big, angry mechs.

To add depth and shading, it’s time for washes. Apply Agrax Earthshade over the armor and cloth of the Traitor Guard, focusing on the recessed areas. For the skin areas, use Carroburg Crimson. I think the S tier is self explanatory; Navy and intercessors are the best and most versatile Kill teams in the game with very few (or no bad) matchups. Elucidian Starstriders enjoy the surprise effect and have many tools to deal with almost everything (although they suffer against MEQ). For sale: one incredibly spacious Thatos Pattern Extended Hab Module, perfect for a young Necromundan family looking to upsize out in the fresh air and open skies of the ash wastes. This Extended Hab Module is larger than the ones found in the Necromunda: Ash Wastes set, but it’s fully modular and mixes perfectly with the other kit, giving your gangs more places to hide from inclement weather. Requisitions

Kill Team Moroch contains two full kill teams – the Chaos-tainted Blooded attempting to overthrow the frontier planet of Moroch in the name of the Warmaster, and the Phobos Strike Team sent to stop them. You get 23 plastic miniatures in total, with 10 Space Marines in Phobos Armour, a new upgrade sprue to build them as a wide range of stealth operatives, and a mine, plus 10 Traitor Guardsmen, a Traitor Ogryn, and a Traitor Enforcer. The operative would still count as performing the action for all rules purposes. For example, if it performed it during its activation, it would not be able to perform the action again during that activation. The meta is still in a healthy place and with smaller events and fewer rounds the chances you can take whatever faction you want and use it to win events in your area increases. That said, if you want to qualify in the top 8 of a major, you’ll likely have to go the extra mile and prepare for each matchup – your skill and knowledge of the game and the opposing faction are going to be what powers you over opponents more often than the power of the faction you chose to play. In the B Tier we have factions which haven’t seen top 8 finishes but are close to being able to make it. They may need a little help and have problems in too many matchups to consistently win without a discrepancy in player skill to overcome the faction differences.

As a final discouragement you can choose to attempt to blow him up when he is incapacitated, causing mortal wounds to nearby operatives. Keep in mind this also affects friendlies. Traitor ButcherJohn: Voidsmen fit the exact same role as before. You should paint the rogue trader and use it in a DND campaign, and you should own a unit of voidsmen in case you write a 1960 1950 Custodes list. Voidsmen did also lose their ability to get in transports, so they no longer can occupy a Land Speeder Storm in space marine lists, effectively shelving that datasheet. Most imperium armies don’t need a 50 point obsec unit that doesn’t synergise with their rules, and I expect we will see them about as frequently as before. Once soldiers of the Astra Militarum, these brutal killers have rebelled against the Imperium, heeding the promises of power offered by the Chaos Gods. The deadliest veterans of the Traitor Guard are known as the Blooded, and put their training and equipment to terrible use, fighting against those who were once their allies. Often pressed into service in the armies of the Chaos Space Marines, the Blooded are all too eager to claim dark glory on far-flung killzones or warp-marked battlefields. The latest big-box expansion to Kill Team pits the villainous forces of the Traitoris Militarum against the noble Adeptus Astartes in a shadow war that could decide the fate of half the galaxy. The Blooded have what I consider the best rules yet released for a Kill Team. They strike a fantastic balance between being useful, and incredibly fluffy. You have the option of creating a team of entirely unique operatives, and the rules team seems to really have learned from past mistakes as there don’t appear to be any “broken” interactions. The Blooded have no rules that allow operatives to FIGHT or SHOOT twice, nor do they have the ability to activate multiple specialists in a row, or any other abilities that have been the targets of recent Rules Errata. They’re also a great addition to your Chaos Space Marines army alongside the new miniatures we showed off on Wednesday.
