You also get the nice advantage of more flexibility for placement of the fan, though if you are making use of an existing hole in the ceiling then that is a non-issue.

The box on the brace might not be able to be positioned as close to the joist as the original box so you might have to cut away some drywall on the side of the existing hole away from the joist. A direct mounting on a dropped ceiling without any additonal support in-between could lead to resonance sounds or an unstable hold of the fan on the ceiling, because the carrying material does not offer enough stability in this case. I can imagine the details of how it would be used in a retrofit: box separates from metal bracket which is screwed to the joist. The problem is not the simple strength of the ceiling joists - we'll presume that even a single joist is strong enough to hold up a fan. The correct paperwork can then be sent and these photographs will ensure that replacements or refunds can then be processed with a minimum of delay.

Could you not just use the 5x50mm gold screws from our host, they are No2 Pozi and not Phillips, but that won’t make any difference in fact No2 Pozi is probably the most common screw head used now. As the height of the dropped ceilings can vary, these mounting brackets are available in 5 different sizes. As long as the items are as new, unused, in the original packaging (unmarked and undamaged), and fully ready for re-sale we will happily take them back for a refund (please allow 7-10 working days for refunds). However, unless this is an open ceiling, that will (a) have the box dropping below the finished ceiling and (b) not look very nice.

Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). From the picture, the only thing holding the fan's weight is a brass nipple and nut with only 2-3 threads. The only risks I see now are 1) the fan bracket failing, which seems unlikely since it is designed to be a fan bracket, or 2) The threads in the nut or pipe somehow strip, which also seems unlikely given they are steel. This bracket is used for fixing a ceiling fan to a conservatory roof that does not have a solid fixing point on the underside of the ridge ie. Obviously that would involve some intricate "dental" work in close quarters that would be impossible if the box didn't separate, but the separation of box and bracket may allow that.

For example, large oil-filled heaters such as the 'Rointe Radiator Range' cannot be safely transported via standard courier services. DHL (if available): Letters, parcels or pallets, our logistics partner DHL offers a solution for any shipment.Whether a ceiling fan can be installed safe and secure on a ceiling, depends not only on professional mounting, but also on the material of the surface it shal be installed on.

In some cases, we may offer a partial refund to cover the remaining part of any existing warranty rather than a replacement. After spending his college summers pouring concrete and building decks, Harrison Kral decided to find a way to put his insider knowledge of construction to use…. You could use this to patch the other side of the hole which may be covered by the shroud on the fan. Before touching the wires, use a non-contact voltage tester to make sure none of them are still live. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.
