King Midas in my opinion was a pig and whatever altruistic motives initially drove him it’s apparent that they’re now long gone.

Depends on how it'll go on in the second book, I think this book is more like a prequel rather than a first book. They’re marching to battle, and I’m the bargaining chip that will either douse the fire or spark a war. This dark adult fantasy romance is inspired by the myth of King Midas and the gold-touched woman who realizes her true worth. And one of the things that seems the most consistent, is that a lot of people don’t really like this first book.
