Learn how to set up, maintain and troubleshoot the LawnMaster L10 & L12 robotic lawn mowers. Here you'll find video guides, instruction manuals, firmware updates and more. Getting Started

Instead, when you first get the robot, you only need to charge the removable battery using the separate charging unit. It comes partially charged and I found it was fully charged within 30 minutes. Remove it from the charger and slot it into the cavity on the rear of the mower, and it’s good to go. The battery should last around three hours and only takes an hour to charge from empty.New technology that may have some teething issues, but continual updates and improvements over time The LawnMaster L10 is unusual among robot lawnmowers in that it doesn’t give you much control. As with most robot mowers around this price, it follows a random pattern around your lawn, using the principle that if it keeps mowing it will cover the entire lawn eventually. I’ll cover the three most important aspects you need to consider – garden type, price, practicalities – and point out exactly what you should look for in each section. Giving you a much clearer idea in your head of which robotic mower would suit you and your lawn best. This should make the selection process much easier. Beginners Guide To Purchasing & Choosing A Robotic Mower You primarily need to make sure that the mower battery is going to run for long enough to cover most, if not all of the lawn in one session. While these machines will return to their charging station when required, you don’t want them to spend more time charging than they do mowing. You may notice that there are some robotic mower models that are the same size and have the same battery, but are designed for larger lawns. How can this be? Well, the manufacture programs the mower to cut for different lengths of time throughout the day and will provide longer boundary wire and pegs for the larger models. As I mentioned, I tried this machine out on my 100m² front lawn and within three hours, it had as good as completed the entire thing with power to spare. Typically, you’ll get around four hours out of a single charge, but this does depend on the conditions such as whether there are any slopes or how bumpy the ground is.

Because the mower travels into its charging station nose first, it parks smoothly and efficiently. However, it doesn’t mow well around it, because it can’t get its blades close enough. As a result, you’ll need to go in and trim the long grass growing around it. The same applies to the area around your boundary wire, if you’ve placed it 30cm away from flower beds and such like. With such a large gap, you can expect to have to deal with a strip of long grass that’s at least 20cm wide.I found that, when testing the LawnMaster VBRM16, it detected the perimeter of my lawn very easily and would stop and turn in good time. However, my front lawn, as you will see in the video review, does have well defined boundaries. The charging station is oriented so that the terminals are on the left and open end on right (as viewed from the centre of the lawn) This inevitably means it will leave a strip of uncut grass around the edge of your lawn that you’ll have to trim manually but this is no different to other robot mowers. They all seem to have this limitation. The LawnMaster VBRM16 is certainly not the most advanced robot lawnmower you’ll come across. However, if you’re looking for a model that can start cutting your lawn on the day you get it, with no requirement to install wires or connect a base station, it’s a simple and effective machine.

I have also done a video review of the LawnMaster VBRM16 which includes a detailed rundown of its performance and, as you will see, the excellent results on my front lawn. Again, for such an affordable piece of equipment, I was pleasantly surprised. That said, here are some of the most important features you should look for when choosing a robotic lawn mower. Battery The downside of the LawnMaster VBRM16’s unwillingness to traverse anything that isn’t grass is that it wasn’t brilliant around bare patches. I have a fairy ring in my grass that fared particularly badly over the hot summer of 2022 and hasn’t managed to recover, leaving bare patches in the lawn. When the mower approached these, it stopped and avoided them. If it was a flower bed I’d be thankful for it but it’s worth noting that the patchier your lawn, the harder it will be for the Lawnmaster VBRM16 to navigate it successfully. If you’ve ever been put off buying a robot lawnmower because of the requirement to set up perimeter wiring and install an outdoor charging station, then the LawnMaster VBRM16 could be the answer to all your prayers.Make sure that the battery indicator is green and has sufficient charge to perform the software update. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port. You will hear four beeps and the indicator lights will flash green. The software is now updating.

The LawnMaster VBRM16 is a robot mower that is simple in its design and operation but doesn’t scrimp on performance. If you’re looking for something that won’t break the bank and will be a cinch to setup and use, then this is a mower I would highly recommend. Main Features You will likely have a range of objects, people and pets on your lawn at any one time and it’s incredibly important for the safe operation of the mower, so you will be pleased to know that at a minimum all robotic mowers will have bump sensors fitted. Higher end robot mowers will also feature object avoidance which will prevent them from bumping / colliding with anything left on the lawn. Cutting HeightADJUSTABLE CUTTING HEIGHT: Choose from cutting heights of between 20mm and 60mm for a neat looking lawn. For best performance and to encourage healthy lawn growth use 60mm for longer grass and after regular mowing, gradually reduce the cutting height to your desired length. There are a few undulations on my lawn where the EasyMow ended up with its nose at the bottom of a dip and didn’t quite have the clearance to get up the other side. If it grounds itself like this it tends to reverse, turn and head off in a different direction.
