Place the plaster on top of the wound, lining the wound pad up with the wound. Ensure none of the adhesive area touches the wound. Using high stretch material with a low allergy Latex Free acrylic adhesive, our waterproof plasters adhere and protect in damp and wet environments. You can buy specially-shaped plasters for fingertips and toe plasters that are easy to wrap around these small and delicate digits. These are called ‘ butterfly plasters ’ because of their butterfly-like shape. Closed surgical wounds are usually covered with plasters to keep them clean while healing. A close surgical wound may be quite long, so a dressing strip is sometimes used. A sterile plaster should be used to ensure an optimal healing environment. Surgery plasters are usually waterproof, so the patient can shower or bathe without letting water in or needing to change the plaster.

Butterfly bandages are useful for holding together shallow cuts with clean edges. If you see torn skin that's jagged, it will probably need stitches. These include: Plasters for bunions : bunions are growths that alter the shape of the feet slightly by producing lumps. These can cause pain by wearing shoes and walking. Foam plasters offer some padding around a bunion which can alleviate this pain. You can even get specific bunion plasters which are foam plasters in a ring-shaped design. If you cannot stop the bleeding, go to your nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department as soon as possible. Plasters (adhesive dressings) Determine how deep and long the cut is. Use a butterfly bandage if the cut is less than 1/4 in (6 mm) deep and less than 3/4 in (19 mm) long. If the cut is longer or deeper than this, it will need stitches. [10] X Research source

Some plasters for spots offer additional benefits, like micro-darts targeting deep cystic spots, but ultimately, the hydrocolloid provides the active benefit in any spot patch. A hydrocolloid plaster can drain a spot overnight, a process which could take a week if left untreated. However, not all spots can be cured by using spot plasters. They only work if the spot is in its life cycle's pustule or papule stage. If you can see visible pus beneath the surface, this is when the acne plaster is likely to work.
