Due to the Gouf's relatively wide window of use, a maxed-out Gouf shield has 3500 HP, making it roughly as strong at Lv4 as an entry-level Commando shield, so it's tougher than it looks. Shortly after its initial introduction, the MS-07A Gouf was replaced by the completed MS-07B Gouf model. The B-type Gouf easily outstripped the MS-06F Zaku II in terms of speed, power output, and melee combat ability. But the mobile suit's overall improvement was not great enough to be justified by its increased cost. The Gouf's production was cut short by the development of a more cost efficient unit, the more powerful and nimble MS-09B Dom. Despite its very short production run, it was still deployed across the world alongside Zakus and Doms. One customized unit was assigned to Colonel M'Quve, which was painted in a two-tone baby blue on royal blue color scheme with ornate gold engravings and trim all over its frame. The head of M'Quve's Gouf also features a custom spearhead-like commander antenna in place of the usual Zeon's arrow-style antenna.

The GOUF Ignited is one of several mobile suits in the Cosmic Era which are derived from suits appearing in the Universal Century. It is named and designed after the MS-07B Gouf, with the production type having similar colors as the latter. September 2nd is officially recognized as "Gouf Day" [1] due to numbers 9 and 2 sounding like グ and フ respectively. [2] The Gouf Custom featured multiple changes to the MS-07B, including the elimination of the awkward five finger 75mm machine guns, replacing it with a normal manipulator and a wrist mounted 3-barrel 35mm Machine gun. The coil-like heat rod is replaced with a magnetic grappler wire that connects and disables an enemy with an electric charge rather than damaging them. The grappler wire could also be used as a repelling line that could slow or even halt the descent of a falling Gouf in the right conditions. The shield of the Gouf was modified so that it not only stored the Gouf's heat sword but is also capable of carrying a 75mm gatling gun, greatly enhancing the mobile suit's fire power.Melee Combo Controller Lv2: Allows the Gouf's Heat Sword to do 3-hit combos. Don't be the Gouf main that gets too greedy and winds up suffering the shame of leg break immediately from full health from an angry Camouf main.

The MS-07B Gouf was intended as a counter measure to the newer Federation MS, and to replace the MS-06J Zaku II Ground Type. While never replacing the J-type Zaku II, it managed to see limited number of units produced. Zeonic eventually cancelled production of the MS-07B when Zimmad's MS-09B Dom was introduced. Despite this, further development of the Gouf continued, producing several experimental units, including flight-capable prototypes. The components of one of these machines, the MS-07H8 Gouf Flight Type, was used to develop and create the MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom. The Heat Rod on the Gouf at first looks worse than the Gouf Custom and Gouf VD's Heat Rods, and the Marasai's Sea Serpent; it does less damage, and it does not inflict automatic heavy stagger like those do. Anyone assuming that this is the case, however, has no idea how dangerous the Gouf's Heat Rod is, because the Gouf's Heat Rod can be directionally aimed like any melee weapon.

You only have one, and it's a weird one, for a few reasons. Sadly it's a weapon you're going to have to master the quirks of if you want to have any hope of using this suit.

Like the Gouf Custom, this Gouf model mounts a 3-barrel Gatling gun on its left forearm. It fires physical rounds at a rapid rate. One such unit was the personal MS-07B Gouf of Colonel M'Quve, commander of the Zeon mining facilities at Odessa, Ukraine. M'Quve's Gouf was functionally equivalent to a standard Gouf, but it was decorated with many ornate gold markings and engravings, and a custom spearhead-like command antenna that would eventually be carried over to the YMS-15 Gyan, which M'Quve personally designed.

Developed as a part of ZAFT's New Millenium Series of next-generation mass production MS, the GOUF Ignited's inital design was rejected in favor of the ZAKU series. However, the design's high performance saved it from being cancelled and its development was allowed to continue. Later, a handful of prototype version of the improved GOUF Ignited (which was the current ZGMF-X2000 GOUF Ignited) were deployed in battle. The GOUF Ignited piloted by FAITH's ace Heine Westenfluss and painted in his personal color was one such unit. Heine and his GOUF Ignited were assigned to the Minerva shortly after of the Battle of the Gulnahan Ravine. It was destroyed afterwards by Stella Loussier's ZGMF-X88S Gaia Gundam, killing Heine in the process during a 3-way battle between the Minerva, the Earth Alliance and its allies from the Orb Union and the Archangel crew, who tried to prevent this battle. [3]Get in the habit of reloading it every time that combat dies down. The reload is fast enough that you can afford to do it, and having a fresh magazine when enemies show up is always an asset.
