You might be wanting and/or collecting info to make an article comparing all of the Series 8 and to update the other articles mentioning Series 8, so here’s some model info for reference. However, I believe it’s time for me to move on with something else, perhaps a Series 8 as a New product stands out for the time being.

I was considering the Series 7 but now will have to consider the 8 because the ergonomics seem the same as the Series 9 and will probably take less time to adjust! The Williams Lectric Shave is the cheapest and easiest to get in the USA, while the one from Speick for example is better in my experience, but costs significantly more and it’s not as easy to source. This will be included within your account minimum payment request every month and cannot be repaid using Take 3. The Series 7 had a badly designed locking mechanism that would simply break when you tried to move the head from the locked position. I got a brand new Braun series 8 and just noticed that the cassette release button is ONLY working on one side.

When I first came across the Series 8, I immediately thought that Braun just decided to Frankenstein together different parts of the Series 5, 7 and 9.

During and after use, my hand would sometimes fatigue when using the Series 8, which is something I never experienced with the Series 7. However, despite the thoughtfulness behind it, the trimmer on the Series 8 8370cc is average at best, at least in my experience. The red recharge light on the 7893s illuminates at roughly 14 or more days of usage with at least two additional shaves available. As mentioned previously, it shaves better, it’s widely available and the replacement shaving heads are also easy to find and usually cost less. But it is surprisingly good for a cheap foil shaver, reasonably comfortable and the replacement heads are cheap.

But let’s get back to the automatic cleaning process using the station that comes with the Braun 8370cc.

In this context, the larger battery is definitely welcome, along with the 5-minute quick charge function. Both the Series 9 and 8 are fitted with 10 000 CPM motors, however the Series 9 feels torquier and faster, which will likely translate into shorter shaving sessions, especially if you have very coarse, dense facial hair that tends to lie flat on the skin. At least from the name perspective, you would expect the Series 8 to be better, but I have used them side by side, shaving half my face with each one and the S7 would constantly be a bit more comfortable, gentler and more enjoyable to use. The shaver is gentle, forgiving and smooth and will likely be a perfectly suitable choice for users with sensitive skin.My guess is that they will eventually be readily available; we’ve seen this with the Series 9 as well. The Series 8 is now the best mid-range Braun shaver and the closest performance-wise to the old Series 7. Even so, I think the Series 8 would definitely be a suitable choice for men with irritation-prone skin. For example, the 8370cc is a bit quieter than a Series 3, 5 and even a Series 7 in the highest power setting. Getting new replacement parts for the Series 8 is currently a problem as I’ve also mentioned in the post.

Just a comment on the only things which is not good in the Serie 7 as it is in the Serie 5 and 9 (and 8) … the trimmer. It’s definitely possible to get a really close and fast shave with an electric shaver as well — on this site alone there are a few thousand comments in that sense. I will be travelling some in retirement and will not always take the cleaning kit with me, but just use the brush till I get back home. Also, when the trimmer is retracted, the blades won’t shear against each other when you switch the shaver on. This is even more noticeable in the case of the Series 9 Pro which is slightly more powerful than the standard S9.The Series 8 8370cc can be charged directly from a power socket using the cord or via the cleaning station. I think most users will be satisfied with the results unless they are really strict about this aspect. I’ve actually said it on quite a few occasions that for most users, a foil shaver will likely be a better choice. As for oils, I highly recommend the use of clipper oil, like the Oster blade lube or the Wahl clipper oil.
