Description

The first five seasons of Better Call Saul are currently streaming on Netflix, and you may be able to find select episodes on platforms such as Fubo TV, SlingTV, and the Roku Channel. What’s more, Breaking Bad ended after just five seasons – with Better Call Saul season 6, this once-prequel show will exist as a spin-off in name only. It’s Gene, offering money on the end of a fishing line. He’s also asking about his own fortune and associates. Francesca has only bad news. The laundering businesses, the offshore account, even the laser tag, it’s all been shut down. Skylar White cut herself a deal with the feds which means only Saul and Jesse (presumed dead) are still on the loose. There is one thing, though, Francesca admits. She took a call from Kim Wexler, and she was asking after him.

Not every Breaking Bad fan returned for more content in this universe. But, as a series that Empire ranked at number 27 on its list of The 100 Greatest TV Shows of All Time, Better Call Saul is an undeniably worthy successor to its trailblazing source material. A critical success without contention, Better Call Saul elevated itself from the shadow of its parent TV show, becoming an entity able to stand proud next to the mighty Breaking Bad. Over its time on the air, the show defied all expectations to become a 5-series epic. And many a loyal watcher would argue it to be superior to its lauded predecessor. A claim which, as everybody knows, is a bold but not necessarily untrue proclamation. Breaking … and entering … Bob Odenkirk as Gene. Photograph: Greg Lewis/AMC/Sony Pictures Television As for what others shows might fill the Bob Odenkirk-shaped hole in your life after Better Call Saul ends in July, Apple TV Plus' The Mosquito Coastand Netflix stablemate Ozark – which ends “later in 2022”– seem like good places to start.Another central Better Call Saul character missing in Breaking Bad is Jimmy’s wife, Kim Wexler, and she doesn’t seem to be on a danger-free path either. After standing up to Lalo - so she has one foot in the grave already - it seems like the taciturn attorney is getting a taste for chaos: she wants to scam goody-two-shoes Howard out of his illustrious legal career, making the newlyweds millions. As well as the title character, Saul Goodman, follow along on a parallel journey with retired Philadelphia police officer Mike Ehrmantraut, and find out how these two differing paths converge in climatic fashion. But while Gould has already confirmed that we won’t see Jesse (Aaron Paul) or Walter (Bryan Cranston), could we see any other Breaking Bad cameos? We were already treated to the return of Hank (Dean Norris) and his DEA buddy, Steven (Steven Michael Quezada) in season 5... Will Better Call Saul season 6 outshine Breaking Bad?

Worried that you don’t have enough Better Call Saul content to satisfy that insatiable itch? Don’t be – it's all good, man. Zavvi’s got you covered. With two episodes to go, therefore, any reconciliation between Jimmy and Kim looks a long shot. Not least because Jimmy appears to be dead, with the violence perpetrated on the telephone box indicative of where Gene is as a person. He is lost, trying to rekindle the life of Saul Goodman. He’s gone as far as buying a chiropractic ankle wobbler, but it all seems desperate, not to mention depraved. By way of proof, we get a telltale “sitting dead-eyed in a strip bar” shot before, at the very end, Gene breaks into the house of a cancer patient to steal his identity.Over the course of the series we see Jimmy get into a number of scrapes and dodgy plans as he tries to advance his legal career; these inevitably lead to him meeting some dangerous characters. Meanwhile Mike is looking for other work which leads to him meeting even more dangerous people; most notably Gustavo Fring and various members of the Salamanca crime family. Following Goodman over multiple series, witness his evolution into the enigmatic character known from Breaking Bad. Inspired to turn his life around and pursuing a respectable legal career, this now ex-scam artist finds himself enveloped in the illegal drug trade - destined to meet the iconic Walter White. This series is set before the events shown in the series 'Breaking Bad'. It shows us how Jimmy McGill, conman turned lawyer goes from being a defender of the desperate to knowing players in New Mexico's drug dealing underworld. Jimmy isn't the only 'Breaking Bad' characters to feature; plenty of others show up, some as main characters others as important cameos. There are also plenty of new characters; I won't say which characters belong to which group so as not to spoil anything for those yet to watch 'Breaking Bad'. But somewhere down the line there's going to be a price to pay, and it's hard to shake the feeling that Slippin' Jimmy isn't going to be able to dodge the hellstorm that's careering his way.
