If you own a gas barbeque and are confused about the type gas you need, we’ve put together a guide to identify the right BBQ gas bottle for your requirement. Clean out your grill regularly. Build up of grease and food particles in your grill will produce unnecessary smoke. Also, take this time to clean out grease drip trays under your grill. Propane cylinders come in a wider variety of sizes, from 3.9 kg to 47kg. However, you would require a screw in high-pressure adjustable propane regulator to attach this bottle to your barbeque. Avoid disposable dishes and utensils for your next cookout. A few minutes washing dishes is better than a pile of paper plates and plastic forks in the garbage. Choose a superior charcoal. Natural charcoals and lump charcoal made from furniture scraps and waste wood without additives and binders make a cleaner fire that not only reduces your pollution output but improves your grilling experience.

What I made: Griddled Pineapple, Halloumi and Mint Skewers and Squash +Charred Carrots, Red Onion, Coriander Seed, Lime and Pistachio.

Rukmini is a columnist for the Guardian and BBC Gardeners' World magazine, and writes for numerous publications, including BBC Good Food magazine, Waitrose and Fortnum & Mason. She strongly believes that making time to eat well – for oneself or for family dinners – is an integral part of the day, and as a new mother with limited time but a good appetite, she’s passionate about helping other households cook great, minimum-effort dinners. This depends largely on how many burners your gas barbeque has. If it has between one and three, a 5kg patio gas bottle is ideal. If you’ve got a larger barbeque with four burners or more, then it’s recommended that you select a 13kg bottle. We have a handy tool: ‘ Which gas bottle do I need’, that could tell you specifically which bottle would be most suitable for your barbeque. We were the first ceramic grill in the world to stand behind our products by offering a Limited Lifetime Warranty — something we've done for over 20 years. Today, each Big Green Egg is inspected and certified to be the highest quality product of its kind, and we continue to offer best-in-class customer service and warranty support to our customers. Core Ceramic Components Avoid petroleum-based lighter fluids and self-lighting charcoal. These release petrochemicals into the atmosphere. Instead, use a charcoal chimney, an electric charcoal starter, or natural lighter fluids to get your fire going. Trim excess fats from meat. Not only will this make your grilling healthier, reduce flare-ups, but also reduce the release of harmful chemicals from the air.

I also opted for an additional dish of tender squash and baby carrots with just the right amount of bite finished with a spectacularly flavourful dressing of crushed coriander seeds, peppercorns and lime. Rukmini’s ability to completely transform ingredients with a dressing is one of the signature elements of her recipes that I particularly love and this dish is a shining example. I amexcited both to try more from this brilliant book and to return to make these two recipes on repeat this summer. The gas bottle is always attached via a regulator. This performs an important safety function, as it controls the pressure at which the gas moves from the bottle to the appliance. It is important to ensure that you have the correct regulator fitted to your appliance for your chosen gas bottle. In simple terms, a green Patio gas bottle is compatible with a clip on regulator, whereas a red propane bottle will require a screw in regulator. Mouth-watering vegan and vegetarian recipes that can be cooked either outdoors or indoors. Discover the BBQ book for everybody! Reduce preheat times. Most gas grills are ready to cook in 5 to 10 minutes. Charcoal takes 15 to 20 minutes to be ready for cooking. Plan your cooking time to correspond to when your grill is ready and don’t leave your grill burning any longer than you need to.
