Somehow the temperature gage gives the wrong temperature, on my first try i even burned my latex/silicone baking form to a crispy black. I'm trying to think of a suitable insulating thin sheet material that could be paired with the original oven panels? This oven is made from smooth corrosion-resistant aluminised steel which is easy to clean and resists scuffs and corrosion. The main design difference between the Coleman oven and the natural gas oven in my home is insulation. The oven measures 12x12x12, which means you can't get too crazy - you've got to keep it small and compact, and you'll need to invest in some 8x8 baking pans if you don't already have them.

It has been designed to be used with gas camp stoves, so can't guarantee its longevity or effectiveness with open fire or a rocket stove. The smaller bread size is plenty for solo or two campers, keeps me from eating too much 🙂 So, I have on board one non-stick light weight pot for everything.Possibly in situations where both campfires and charcoal briquettes are banned, it would win by default. I could have got by with a smaller stove and some heatproof insulation over the oven, or even a sheet of aluminium foil, but I didn't want to alter the thermal properties of the oven.
