If you currently have a bean to cup coffee machine, and you're replacing it because it's stopped working, then the question to ask yourself is, was there anything wrong with using a bean to cup machine, do you need to upgrade or would you be happy with another bean to cup machine? If you would, see: If you're the kind of coffee lover who wants true espresso, and mega milk quality, but you don't want to have to do loads of learning and turn coffee into a hobby, instead you want the kind of user experience you'd have with a premium touch screen bean to cup coffee machine, then this new breed of coffee machine from Sage will be right up your street. A downside is that there’s no timer switch. This is a shame, as the portafilter produces best results when it’s slightly warm. Value for Money

day. On Sun 22nd, that changed after the machine once again started with a loud buzz, then twice re run throughs…and then output What do they make? Espresso and all the espresso-based coffee shop favourites, including cappuccino, latte, flat white & americano. The commercial-grade steam wand takes 15 seconds to achieve its full power. This is sort of slow, but that’s actually a good thing. Not only is the Touch Impress cheaper (almost half the price!), I think it the assistance works better, and I think the overall user experience is also better, and although the Oracle touch has the edge for espresso quality, there's really not a huge amount in it due to the fact that they both have the same grinder. Speaking of simplicity, there’s also no built-in grinder included with the Sage Duo Temp Pro. For this feature, you’ll need the Barista Express, Barista Express Touch, or Oracle. While it’s not that much extra effort to buy a separate grinder (we recommend a burr grinder), this adds to the overall cost and is less convenient than a true bean-to-cup machine ( like the models on our list here). This means it’s easy to switch from brewing to steaming and vice versa. It also means you can get your espresso shot faster.

I love the LCD shot timer which also tells you when you're at the preinfusion stage and at the shot pulling stage and the fact that if you want to you can really simply adjust the brew temp, and that it's so easy on this machine to get into the cleaning cycles. I wanted to update you on an issue I’m having with my Barista Pro (bought 16th June 2023), and additional problem with SageBecause of the slow-progressing steam, you have more time to aerate the milk. It’s perfect when you’re a beginner!

One of those machines is the Breville Infuser, which lets at-home baristas really play around with their coffee. In fact, all that personalization is what really makes this machine stand out. If you started out with the Sage Dynamic Duo for example, the Dual Boiler paired with the Smart Grinder Pro, anyone who's come from using bean to cup machines or a more entry-level home barista setup, will probably find that the espresso quality they can produce absolutely blows their minds. You think you might enjoy the home barista hobby but you're just not sure, so you want a machine you can use either fully manually, in what I call “geek mode” or with assistance. In theory, the Touch Impress also fits this bill and is better suited to the non-home barista, the only negative is that you can't just push a button to go from auto to manual, you have to go into the settings via the touch screen, it only takes a few seconds though. If you're one of the many people I speak to who want to go down the home barista path but aren't super fussed about exactly dialing in and are more than happy with getting somewhere in the ballpark, then the Barista Pro would suit you fine. If you want to get perfect results with each coffee bean you buy, though, the grinding range is possibly going to frustrate you.The original thermocoil retains and gives off more heat than the newer thermojet. As a result, the cup warmer on the Barista Express does get hotter than the cup warmer on the Barista Pro.
