There are a number of unofficial LEGO® Warhammer MOCs out there, some are done as fanart but those of you who want to build one of yourself will be pleased to know that some people have made the MOCs with instructions! One of the things I love the most about LEGO® MOCs is that the designs are not bound to the same rules as the official LEGO® sets. if you’re interested in how to create your own MOCs we have a great post to get you started right away. When a set is made for production they have to keep in mind things like the cost and rarity of parts but when a MOC is made (assuming the design is for fun not to be sold) all these limitations are removed!To date, there are no official LEGO® Warhammer sets or Minifigures. There are unofficial Warhammer MOCs instead. Dubbed “Warhammer 50k,” Santosa’s build is comprised of units that he designed himself after being introduced to 40K by a friend. His “reimagined” set includes a variety of soldiers and vehicles, including his own personal take on the space marine, mech suits, some nifty looking tanks and even some orc baddies for them to fight against. Santosa built his Warhammer army as a submission for Iron Builder, a competition hosted by the private LEGO community the Builder’s Lounge. This will be Santosa’s twenty-fourth submission to the competition and, according to Santosa himself, it took longer to plan and build than any he’s done previously.

Warhammer 40K is one of the most famous and complex tabletop games there is. That being the case, it’s understandably served as the fodder for some fairly brilliant tributes over the years. Not surprisingly, some of the most impressive have come from the world of LEGO. Take the work of Kosmas Santosa. A graphic designer and LEGO builder from Indonesia, he recently released a gallery of images showcasing his collection of custom LEGO builds inspired by Warhammer 40K and its universe. Warhammer is incredibly popular, a niche on its own but it could be argued that the building principle behind LEGO® and Warhammer could entice a similar audience. Mixing Warhammer 40k pieces with LEGO is a growing trend and if you can pull it off, it looks great but and it all depends on what style you are trying to create. This Tactical Space Marine is nicely painted and the gold detailing makes him really stand-out. The helmet is especially good and the painted gun is nicely detailed, although we think this minifgure would have been suited with something more substantial. There is also the option to have one set designed for you via commission work, this way you can have your own custom LEGO® Warhammer model designed for you. What Can I Expect to Find Online?
