One of my television songs, A SQUASH AND A SQUEEZE, was made into a book in 1993, with illustrations by the wonderful Axel Scheffler. This book would be great to use with KS1 and is full of rhyme and onomatopoeia to reflect the excitement of the adventure of Jack and his friends. A memory game could be played with children of how many items from the patchwork sack they can remember, or a made up story in the classroom as to what they'd put in their own patchwork sack to help them on an adventure and why.
