I'm also glad that the author didn't decide to rush Auren into leaving Midas (though I was pretty much mad early on of her blind loyalty). Glint didn't offer that much action, but a lot of character's development and insight both for Auren and the readers. I'm actually glad Kennedy made this series realistic even at the expense of Auren's inability to renounce Midas right away and even her failure to instantly transform into the strong warrior we're all impatient for her to be. They help progress relationships and present a new hill within the relationship that they they have to acknowledge and overcome.

He is already such an amazing character, I can't wait to learn more information about him and see his character develop first-hand.

Also his respect for her was the bare minimum but him being one of the first to give that to her was freeing. We find out that Midas is Barden East, the big bad she was threatened with before she met Midas, and we're supposed to believe that the big master plan of this crime boss turned monarch was to make her love him.
