I first spotted Potion Explosion at Gen Con in August and immediately thought it looked like a great family board game. The game is recommended for ages 14 and older. However, I think younger players could reasonably learn how to play the game, but they may need little help from an older player on occasion.There may not be an explosion waiting to happen at the start of your turn if you were just to take your 1 ingredient. However, if you can use a potion or two to collect additional ingredients, you can do those first and set yourself up for making explosive combos.
