A third world debt-ridding amount of copies will be shifted of this album by the man who remains either a paragon of 'sensitive' singer songwriting to his fanbase, or a piece of cockney rhyming slang to the rest of the world. Blunt also performed the song "Same Mistake" during his performance at the Live Earth concert in London. After an hour of listening to it exclaim platitudes and clichés over plucked strings and Elton-lite keys, drowning kittens seems like a really fine way to spend the afternoon. Once you heard any of his songs on the radio, switch off the radio QUICKLY and just enjoy his cd at your own pace.

The album received mixed reviews from critics: At Metacritic, which assigns a normalised rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has received an average score of 53 out of 100, which indicates "mixed or average reviews", based on 21 reviews. Just a humble advice: Listen when you need to relax, when you want to watch the clouds roll by and when you need time to stand still. Why go for Blunt's dehydrated instant fix of heartache when you can luxuriate in the deeply moving work of a Jose Gonzalez or Ray LaMontagne? Blunt's voice is quite the acquired taste, and nothing on here really stands out or connects from a thematic or lyrical standpoint.James Blunt - one of the most successful British artists this decade - is back with his first album in 3 years.

The anthemic 'Shine On' is exquisitely crafted while 'I Can't Hear the Music' hooks into your brain with its James Bond-style orchestration" and finished saying "But snobbery apart, this is a terrific album.

He is a true artist and gentleman who puts his fans first giving all who support him a great evening whether you are at his concerts or listening to a fine album such as All The Lost Souls, SUPERB! His live shows are a real treat, always ending with the first single from this album 1973, he uses his piano as a surf board riding it like a pro. Faced with a slew of angry Bluntophiles baying about the fact that we're snobs/haven't listened to the album more than once/don't understand his poor sensitive soul, what can you say? Moving slowly away from the laboured tracks of the first album, there are some superb uplifting tracks here, James proving he can provide a beat, more electric guitar than he is really comfortable with at this stage, but it doesn't show in the recordings themselves.
