Finally, the Blue Label. One of the most highly esteemed blended whiskies on the market, this blend contains some of the rarest and oldest whiskies in the Diageo reserves. Said to include spirit from Clynelish, Caol Ila, Royal Lochnagar, Glenlossie, Glenkinchie, and Cameronbridge distilleries, the whisky balances spirit from every whisky-making region in Scotland. Drinkers can expect a rich, velvety mouthfeel with notes of hazelnuts, dark chocolate, dried fruit, vanilla and oak, alongside a hint of peat smoke. The 18 year old is made up of 18 different grain and malt whiskies, with a large percentage coming from the exalted distilleries such as Cardu, Auchroisk, Glen Elgin and Blair Athol. The final result is a sumptuous dram that serves up notes of cherry, toffee, smoke, bananas and dried fruits.
