I shouldn't have raised my expectations since I generally tend to be bored with Greek Mythology but Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies so I was really excited for the twisted tale Anyone can relate to Tiana and her choices so everyone can enjoy this story. And anyone can benefit from this great representation of New Orleans in the early 1900s. I recommend Almost There to everyone and all ages. Curl up with this book and some beignets this fall and enjoy! I really had a fun time reading this story. I love Megara. She's one of my favorite characters within the Disney universe. She's smart, snarky and not constantly looking for a man to save her. Straight On Till Morning (Peter Pan) - What if Wendy first traveled to Never Land with Captain Hook?

I don’t know why I keep reading the Twisted Tales 🥴 Every time I expect something different, but I’m just left with this feeling of incompleteness. I will say I’m super happy that Tiana got her own story, because I feel like she’s an underrated princess who never really got her time in the limelight. It was also really nice to read something where she’s not a frog for 3/4 of the story… d) WTF happened with HADES? (and there was hardly anything at all of Panic and Pain. Really Disney, Hades was much better in Descendants 3. Lim, Elizabeth (April 4, 2023). When You Wish Upon A Star: A Twisted Tale. Disney-Hyperion. ISBN 978-1368077545. YET she did what she had to do and did her best and ends up the girlfriend to a god. Not too shabby.I really enjoyed this one. I like the Twisted Tales and how they offer a “what if…” for the story. It’s interesting to see what could have happened instead of the ending we know. I love that the book focused on Meg instead of Hercules. Meg is one of my favorite Disney characters and is so underrated. This book not only gave Meg her own story, but also dove into her past and showed more of her relationship with Hercules that we didn’t see in the movie. e) Hades is not the villain, he just got screwed over by his brothers Poseidon and Zeus- holding a grudge is completely logical but no one ever gives him that.

Braswell, Liz (September 7, 2021). What Once Was Mine: A Twisted Tale. Disney-Hyperion. ISBN 9781761200205. May I first say, I am unfamiliar with The Princess and the Frog fairy tale and equally unaware of the Disney re-make of the tale so I have no idea what actually happened and how the author 'twisted' it to get this tale. i really wanted to love this because i am a disney fangirl at heart and i like the premise, but the only part i actually enjoyed reading was the hades/persephone storyline. In September 2010, Farrah joined the Kimani Romance family with the launch of her new series that follows the life of the fictional New York Sabers football team.Bayou Boogie: Everyday Princess • Live To See You Smile • Shadow Man • Do What I Wanna Do • When You're In Love You'll Understand • Zippin' To The Zydeco • I Was Born To Blow This Horn • Play With The Band • Night and Day • Life In The Swamp • Love is a Magical Mystery • Sing Away The Blues • Mama Odie's Kitchen Song And when it comes to this book, it reminded me of the direct-to-video sequel. The early morning, poorly animated tv show sequel. The characters were... sort of the same, but also... not quite. It can feel quite forced at times, but the outline is still there and it's still a fun time. We all love to ask these questions when thinking about our favorite stories. What if Cinderella didn’t lose her shoe? What if Belle hadn’t shown the villagers the beast? And what if Tiana had accepted the Shadow Man’s deal? How would these choices have changed their stories? Well, Disney’s Twisted Tale series allows us to indulge in these fantasies and see the story play out differently than the movies we all love. Original songs: Down in New Orleans • Almost There • Friends on the Other Side • When We're Human • Gonna Take You There • Ma Belle Evangeline • Dig a Little Deeper • Never Knew I Needed

Buy all the Cabbage Patch Kids in the world and give them away for free (because apparently that was how I rolled). Part of Your World: A Twisted Tale. Disney-Hyperion. ISBN 9781368013819. Calonita, Jen (April 6, 2021). Go the Distance: A Twisted Tale. Disney-Hyperion. ISBN 9781368063807. I seem to be in the minority of people that have enjoyed this one, surprisingly. I think a lot of that stems from how much younger this book reads than other works in this series. Which makes sense since Jen Calonita is most well known for her middle grade series, Flunked. People most likely went into this expecting something a little bit darker, a little bit more graphic, and felt, instead, like they were reading a children's book.Lim, Elizabeth (April 7, 2020). So This is Love: A Twisted Tale. Disney-Hyperion. ISBN 978-1368013826. My favorite aspect was seeing Meg be forced a bit out of her stubborn independence. I know other reviewers have said that she was far too hot-headed in this book, and I agree, but I don't necessarily feel like it was out of character. At the beginning of the book, we see her far less... rash than at the end of the book. As she feels like she's failing, she becomes more and more desperate to prove just how much of a failure she isn't, thus creating many of the scenarios that got on other reviewers' nerves. Which, again, is valid, but it's also - from my experience, at least - realistic? People tend to do stupid things when they're desperate, especially when said person feels that being vulnerable is a weakness. She needs to learn acceptance of a lot of things. And she’s going to have to decide what truly matters the most to her. Also, she has to discover what price she’s willing to pay to have what she wants. It’s a lot of things being thrown at her all at once. But her decisions affect more than just herself and as she begins to see this she’ll have to make some very hard choices. Will she make the right ones in time? Good Vibes If there’s one thing Disney movies are known for, it’s their fairy-tale endings where the protagonists live “happily ever after,” and “The Princess and the Frog” is no different. However, “Almost There” starts at a point where Tiana and Naveen haven’t gotten their happily ever after yet, and it’s a mystery whether or not they will even get one due to the terms of Tiana’s deal. Since the deal allowed Naveen to turn human again, he consequently forgot the adventure he and Tiana had as frogs. I worried that Naveen’s character growth ( rare for a Disney prince) would vanish in this new storyline, but Rochon proved me wrong. Naveen works at Charlotte’s father’s sugar factory and expresses his desire to make a name for himself in New Orleans, inspired by Tiana’s hard work and determination.
