Description

Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 at the age of 25 and became Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. The reverse of this coin shows the crowned letters EP within a floral garland and the obverse bears the second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

With your collection you will receive – at no extra charge – a deluxe wooden display chest, custom-crafted to display your set. The silver crown coin is the first British coin ever issued in celebration of a Royal Wedding Anniversary making it of great significance to collectors.

You should carefully consider the risks associated with investing in Bullion, taking into account your own individual financial needs and circumstances. The historic financial performance of Bullion is not indicative of and does not guarantee future financial performance. Today, having lived with decimal currency for over half a century, that coinage system seems distant, but it’s worth remembering that pounds, shillings and pence had been in use for over a thousand years. Steeped in more than 1,100 years of history, The Royal Mint supplies all of the United Kingdom's coinage as well as currency for nations around the world. Britain had only just completed decimalisation in 1971, it may have been sensible, with hindsight, to have shown the new decimal equivalent - 25 New Pence - on this and subsequent crown issues.

The letters E, for Queen Elizabeth II, and P for Prince Philip are centred, with forget-me-not foliage encasing them. These cookies are not essential but help us target ads more effectively and track how well the ads perform. The 1977 Silver Jubilee crown has one of the largest mintage figures of a coin struck for a single event in British history. On the three crowns issued between 1951 and 1960, the value "Five Shillings" appeared, but this was again omitted from the Churchill Commemorative crown of 1965. Each of the eight milestones are commemorated with a coin issued by The Royal Mint: the year of her birth, wedding, accession to the throne, Coronation, Silver Jubilee, Golden Jubilee, Diamond Jubilee and Platinum Jubilee. Our packaging is discreet and we do everything to minimise the chance of anyone guessing the contents of the parcel. All the coins we sell are 100% guaranteed authentic and, where relevant, are individually certified.
