It usually takes the form of a series of polygonal shapes or veiling flare, and occurs if you shoot directly into the sun.

Fast continuous shooting, reliable autofocus and great battery life are just three of the most important factors. Between the two, I prefer the ring of the PRO lens as it is easier to turn due to its extra surface area. Color accuracy is critical for modern creative work, but many creatives have no idea what a colorimeter is actually doing when you put it on your display.

And still more encouraged when we discovered they were asking a fairly sensible amount of money for it.

Given the newer nature of the micro four-thirds system, there aren't yet (at the time of writing) a lot of alternatives to choose from. The photo with parrots seems to be way off the mark in terms of colors, especially so when compared vs the one from Ricoh which looks very natural and balanced and juicy. I know a lot of new parents that find photography as a way to capture and share their new life experiences. In the past I never used lenses pouches with my larger lenses, but with these smaller rangefinder like lenses, I put all my lenses into pouches before they go into my bag.

I wanted to make sure I explained the underpinnings of my opinions, rather than simply announce them as if they were the only possible conclusion anyone could draw. Overall I'm very impressed with this as a portrait lens, and kudos to Olympus for making such a fantastic lens that makes the Pen system very grown up.

uses a pure fly-by-wire focusing mechanism, whereas the PRO lens almost behaves like a manual focus lens when its focus ring is pulled back into MF mode due to the traditional hard stops at each end of the focusing range. Or pay less for an older MF lens that probably won’t be as sharp, slower to focus (still not a fan of MF on the Micro 4/3 cameras as I find it slow and hit or miss) and larger. The shiny metal-like finish and rangefinder-esque aesthetics might lead you to believe that this is an all-metal lens. Can anyone throw any light on what the issue could be with me having tried 3 copies of the Oly 45/1. Soft dreamy bokeh, great colors, and it won’t distract your subject or be scary to hold over top of them.in addition to being larger, take on a distinctive “cat’s eye” shape, especially at the edges of the frame. From a technical point of view, I've been more than happy with the results I've been getting from the 45. This is an interesting article and it seems to be a new format on DPR: a personal experience report, not the usual technical examination down to the last screw. Likely i will get the 45 anyways, but just wondering how they compare in sharpness/colour/contrast/bokeh? The Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro might not come with the most impressive camera hardware we have seen, but Google's software power and tuning excellence help its new flagship smartphones produce among the very best image quality we have seen on mobile devices.

The 85-90mm focal range is a classic for portrait work because it can be used for head shots, upper-body shots and even full-body shots. Even without looking at any side by side images, we already know that the internal design of the 45mm PRO is more complex, with 14 elements in 10 groups and 6 special elements. Since they both have a fast maximum aperture, they are incredibly useful for work in venues with poor lighting such as a church, wedding reception, concert hall or auditorium. But that is about it as I find the lens sharp at every aperture, fast to AF, and the color rendition is very good as well. Critical focus fine-tuning isn't quite as immediate as using an optical viewfinder and a lens with manual focus override, but the PEN Mini is intelligent enough to magnify the selected focus point if you turn focus ring.
