As Hazel would say, what an utterly Daisy-ish thing to do: pretend she was dead, put Hazel through all that grief only to find out she has been on an undercover mission! This is definitely my favourite Book out of all the MMUs, along with Death in the Spotlight and First Class Murder, which I both loved because of the plot, and this one is the same. I had forced my brother to read the series and at the start of every book he says that ‘Daisy died and Hazel did it’ and he was half right (until the end is revealed)! Hazel, 17 (the same as Daisy), is engaged to Alexander, but soon Daisy and Hazel need to go back to Deepdean to pretend to be 16 so that they can investigate a spy. I love how both Daisy and Hazel get their first kisses and the LGBTQ+ representation, I think that it is very important.

I Am currently gazing at my finally full collection of Murder Most Unladylike and I am thinking to myself that I have finished them, I am finished the wonderful adventures of Hazel Wong and Daisy Wells and I am sad! I’m about to go into my last year of A-Levels; it’s fitting that one of my favourite childhood stories finishes just as I turn into an adult. If you want to read the book through with a friend and discuss it offline, that’s fine, but don’t do it here, because you’ll end up seeing spoilers for bits you haven’t got to yet! Collects short mystery stories from twelve bestselling English authors, including tales of murder, dognapping, and poisoning.I also got the murder with a bit of help as I thought why didnt they think heppy did not sleep walk because she might not of.

I think the fact that even though it’s set in the past but there are still not all British girls who like boys is really important. I also love the way you bought May into the book she is a character that makes you smile when she is in the story! The Case of the Drowned Pearl” is a World Book Day 2020 book and is “an account of The Body at the Seaside, an investigation by the Wells and Wong Detective Society, with assistance from the Junior Pinkertons.

And wherever they go, mysteries will find them… While on a seaside holiday with their friends George and Alexander, the Detective Society discover the body of famous swimmer Antonia Braithwaite – nicknamed The Pearl – on the beach. Featuring four original, never-before published stories, this incredible collection brings together Daisy Wells, Hazel Wong and their friends Alexander and George, as well as Hazel's sisters, Rose and May Wong. when I was on the first, fourth of eighth book of the series, the ending was always open, we never knew what would happen in the next book, we never knew who was safe and who was not and now I finally feel that at the end of death sets sail, well I felt satisfied proud and sad, as if, finishing the book meant that I was protecting them, as I turned the last page of the book, I knew that they were now safe and they will always be, I feel like I have finally managed to wrap the present tight so everything inside is finally safe and sound!

On holiday at the seaside with their friends George and Alexander, they discover a body on the beach. She is already a tad bit too egotistical for my liking and thinks she is the world and has quite a bit of critique on everyone. Brilliant characters, Hazel and Daisy are very developed this far into the series and they are just as we have come to know and love them in this short story. And it was sad to think that ‘ that was the last time I’ll ever read a new detective society case’ gahhh I’m crying think about it. I was so relieved when Daisy was alive and working as a detective at the end – I couldn’t stand to see Hazel so upset! Before I read it I suspected that daisy wouldn’t die and would walk in daisyishly, but I still cried when Heppy almost killed daisy (I thought my theory was wrong). Trained up at the Ministry, they soon embark upon their first mission: masquerading as evacuees, they are sent to a wealthy manor house to spy on the owner, who is suspected of working for the enemy.
