It would be frustrating if you sat down to play the game and you didn't realise you need quite a few additional props before you can play. They are all items that you can probably find around the home, but it’s still a bit annoying to have to find them each time (especially the 3 toilet roll tubes). One of the challenges also requires water which will inevitably lead to some mess. Given the game cards and chips are cardboard introducing water into the mix just seems like an extra challenge that isn’t needed.

Drawing cards - indicated by the pen symbol. The player chooses which of the 3 symbols they plan to draw and the other players have to guess. If someone guesses correctly both they and the person who did the drawing get a point (or chip).

The Upside Down Challenge Game

Verdict: In the same way that Funko took on collectible figures to give people memorabilia for oft-overlooked things they loved in Pop form, they now seem to be doing the same with their Funko Games imprint and I am absolutely here for it.

This is a worthy addition to the stable and, as big Star Wars geeks, is now our family's preferred flavour of the game. The addition of both original trilogy classic characters as well as ‘new’ villains like Kylo Ren and The Clone Wars’ Asajj Ventress meant it was popular with both the younger and older players at the table. Each challenge card has two difficulty levels so younger children can do the easier ones (marked with a feather) and adults can do the ones marked with a dumbbell. We especially loved: As ever, the game board, cards and pieces were well-made of premium card and just felt of incredibly high quality. The artwork of London was sumptuously designed, with the added benefit that there are so many different routes around the city you can play the game over and over again in different ways. Simple Gameplay: Wear the specialized yellow goggles and compete with friends and family to do challenges with your vision flipped upside down. What happens when your world turns upside down? Find out when you put on the goggles and experience how easy tasks suddenly turn into a really challenge!

Gameplay is fairly straightforward. You can choose to play the easy or the more difficult challenges which are denoted by a feather (easy) or a dumbell (hard). Starting with the youngest player, they draw a card from the pile and do the challenge! Non Stop Fun! - Get your family and friends together and create memories while playing fun, high quality and challenging games that everyone can enjoy. Perfect gift for birthdays or Christmas as it allows adults and kids to interact and bond over hours of laughter and stimulating activities. Games cater to all levels of knowledge and experience so everyone can have a turn and have a good time! The premise: Fulfil your destiny and become an iconic Star Wars Villain by thwarting the pesky rebels and taking over the galaxy.

A couple of minor quibbles are that it would benefit with a licence for Disney films - although it was nice to see Despicable Me pop up - and while the suggested age is 13 we were considering playing this tweens slightly younger until a random (and slightly wince-inducing) clip from Candyman popped up for one of the questions. In the upside down challenge game, players take turns to wear the upside down goggles whilst taking their turn. And even simple tasks may seem impossible when the world is on its head! What’s In The Game Box?

A lovely game to get everyone in the Christmas spirit, ideal for all ages and with a good dusting of Disney magic on top. Verdict: If as a parent you've been putting in the hours playing Orchard Games in the hope to indoctrinate your children in the joy of gaming then this is the ideal next step. Pull puzzle pieces from the bag and work to put them together to recreate six separate jigsaws. In the box you get a pair of upside down glasses, 32 cards (2 of which are super challenges), 1 symbol explanation card, an action cards explanation booklet, a 20 second sand timer, 32 cardboard blue chips, 4 yellow cardboard chips as well as the punch board they come in. To play the game though you will also need to gather a number of items from around your house including: 3 cardboard tubes (eg the middle of toilet rolls), a pen with a lid, plenty of paper, a teaspoon, 2 beakers/ cups, a bowl and some water. Verdict: For many of us the film of The Wizard of Oz is a Christmas staple and this beautifully designed and well-thought out co-operative board game could easily become another family festive tradition. Also, it has clearly been made by people who love every detail of the iconic story and it shows - the artwork, the beautiful book that underpins it all and even the game pieces are all stunning.
