Our testers loved it as a standalone sipper, but it would also pair beautifully with creamy salmon dishes and BBQ beef brisket. It’s made using just three grapes: chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier (the latter two being red grapes). Moët has been associated with the sparkle of success and glamour since the House was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët.

Particularly well matched with grilled shellfish, red-fleshed fish in a thin-sliced carpaccio, grilled or pan-seared, red meat (raw to lightly cooked) in a light sauce, sun-ripened vegetables and fresh red berries. This rosé version builds on the brand’s rich brioche base, while introducing red berries and a touch of stone fruit. Unashamedly indulgent, Taittinger allows chardonnay to dominate this cuvée, adding a lively, refreshing slant on crowd-pleasing strawberries and cream. Moet and Chandon has been creating their fine champagnes since 1743 and it's been loved by everyone ever since.Stacey is also founder of Crummbs, where she’s written nearly 2,000 restaurant and hotel reviews since 2013. Pair lighter bubbles with the likes of crab cakes, seafood platters and goats cheese canapés, or enjoy a glass on its own before dinner to freshen the tastebuds. Stacey is our Senior Food and Drink Editor, looking after all food and drink reviews — from coffee pods and veg boxes, to natural wine and tequila. However, it retains a freshness thanks to zesty apple, orange and tart grapefruit — a complex fizz for those that appreciate the finer things in life. These are the values that they share and the values that inspired the founder's grandson Jean-Remy Moët to share the champagne with the world. This technique results in a pure fresh flavour, without any tannins barging in to disrupt your delicate palate. Each champagne house will have its own cellar master — a figure responsible for selecting just the right quantity of each, to perfectly represent the brand’s signature style. So whether you’re celebrating something special, or just fancy treating yourself, these are the best rosé champagne for summer picnics, long weekends, and any bougie occasion you fancy celebrating. A thick tuna steak will balance out the pronounced crisp acidity, and score you top marks with dinner guests. It might not be as well-known as say, Moët, but seek this out and you’ll soon see what all the fuss is about. If you find one with a particularly high level of acidity, this can be balanced out with something high in fat, like duck.

Patsy and Eddie of Ab Fab fame made it quite clear you needn’t be a wine snob to appreciate a glass of Bolly. This weighty, full-flavoured fizz has been aged for twice as long as is legally required, to bring out the brand’s trademark pastry notes. Unlike still rosé wine, which uses the ‘skin contact’ method (where grape skins are left in contact with the juice for a short period, to impart colour and flavour), Champagne is the only region within the EU that is legally allowed to blend white and red wine to create a blush. This pale pink rosé may look delicate, but its gastronomic style means it’s powerful enough to complement meatier fish dishes such as baked turbot and lobster thermidor. With layers of bittersweet red cherry and raspberry, the pronounced acidity cuts through the richer flavours of beef carpaccio. Four years of oak-ageing brings out a toasty base, with fresh pink citrus and crunchy green apple layering on top. Moet is rightly proud of its Grand and Premier Cru vineyards and the quality of the champagnes is never in doubt.
