She fled the scene and sparked a major police hunt before handing herself into detectives on October 19.

When she was arrested for the assault, a court heard she told police that one of them "would end up dead".Steven Barnes, 64, is accused of killing the 57-year-old at a property in Hopedale Close on Tuesday, March 15. He has also been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in her 90s who is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital. A cordon and road diversions remain in place while police carry out their enquiries. Superintendent Ronan Tyrer said: "This is the tragic death of a young man and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this devastating time. Marlene's story should act as a warning to all women and men who find themselves within such relationships, and who choose to remain and keep quiet in the hope that the situation will improve. Tustin has admitted two counts of child cruelty during the trial, including carrying out three assaults on the boy and also making him sit or stand in her hallway for up to 14 hours a day as part of a behavioural regime.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services Mr Zou died at the scene and detectives launched a murder investigation. Mr Enoch said: "She took her revenge or retaliation, as she herself described it, and deliberately and maliciously stabbed him. It helps somewhat to read all the lovely comments people have written about him. He was loved by everyone that knew him." Emergency services rushed to the scene of the fatal stabbing, but nothing could be done to save the victim. Another man, aged 44, suffered a small stab wound. A woman in her 90s was also injured and taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. West Midlands Police were called to the property at 7am this morning (Tuesday) along with West Midlands Ambulance ServiceThe friend who came to help him also suffered serious hand injuries. Sadly, 22-year-old Shuo Zou died at the scene on Upper Well Street. We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward and speak to us. If anyone has any footage, CCTV or dashcam footage then please call me or one of my team on 101 quoting log number 295 of April 6.” It's no coincidence that the defendant was to say to the police a month before the killing, when she was arrested for assault, that one of them would end up dead.

Cordelia Farrell, 38, knifed her partner Wayne Coventry, 36, in front of horrified friends after they argued at his brother's house. A police cordon still remains in place around the property and along Hopedale Close. Forensics teams are currently at the scene. Marlene's mother Gloria said: “Marlene’s life was taken by a partner with whom she shared a loving relationship with, but ultimately became toxic due to domestic violence issues including verbal and physical abuse towards her. In a statement released by WMP, Mr Hawkesford-Barnes' family said: "I don’t know what I can say that would ever describe the impact of the loss of Paul to me, our daughters, his two older children and our family. We are devastated and life will never be the same again.
