Description

I was born in Brasilia, Brazil where I spent my childhood and teenage years. After graduating from high school, I moved to the USA where I studied psychology with specialization in criminal behaviour. During my University years I held a variety of odd jobs, ranging from flipping burgers to being part of an all male exotic dancing group. In this book we have victims who kind of die by their own hands. It is so unique and different and again so well explained. They are all entertainers and they all look alike. Hunter is of course on the hunt for the perpetrator and the way to catch him is to understand him and the reasoning behind the crimes. The mysterious caller however doesn't want Hunter to just watch, but rather participate in an act where refusing is not an option.

Man "Genezė" - labiausiai patikusi, didžiausią įspūdį palikusi ir stipriausiai prikausčiusi serijos knyga 🖤 Nėra vertinimo skalėje tiek ⭐, kad atspindėtų knygos sukeltas mintis ir jausmus.

Coerced into making a disturbing choice, Hunter sits through and watches as an unidentified victim is tortured and murdered live on live stream. Hunter was also well aware of that fact. His main goal, once he’d joined the LAPD, was always to make Detective for the Robbery Homicide Division. Deep inside he had to admit that he was very proud of having scorched through the ranks at record speed. The main reason I read crime novels is because I love trying to work out who the killer is, but that was nigh on impossible in this novel. There was absolutely no foreshadowing and there were no 'clues'. So many reviewers have said "this novel kept me guessing till the end!" and I would totally agree, but it wasn't in a tense, oh-golly-I-thought-it-was-x-and-now-I-think-it-could-be-y-oh-wow-it-was-z, way… it was in a you've-not-told-me-a-bloody-thing-and-I-have-no-idea-what-is-happening, way. Yes, keep us in the dark to an extent we don't want the killer and their motivations unveiled in the first chapter, but reveal these aspects slowly, so that we might piece the plot together ourselves. That, how, and when it happens, or illusionary will happen, is more a question of to what extent and not if. While it might at the moment be one of the most disturbing darknet and organized crime features, games like that with audience participation might have a place in different kinds of societies of the future for different reasons. Let´s say corporal punishment, using clones without fear and pain, militaristic societies with classy battle royales, or as an accepted hobby for relaxation, the options are endless.

Again, the big showdown opens up the question of where justice ends and vigilantism begins, if people are legitimized to kill if the law doesn´t help them after misjudgment and injustice, if it´s ok to switch from victim or the one left behind alone to the big avenger. Tracy's personality felt flat and I didn't like her style either or to be honest anything about her. Hunter's partner Garcia has got some good moments during the story and even made me smile with some remarks he made. Captain Blake made a few appearances but wasn't much involved in the case and the same can be said for Dr. Hove. This story has the added point of departure of having a Mob enforcer as one of the loved ones. He then also engages in hunting down the killer in a Liam Neeson ‘Taken’ manner - I will find you and rip out your heart and feed it to the rats😁I love Garcia's relationship with his wife Anna and this time after the last books she was more involved and present in the story and to be honest I would like that kind of relationship for Hunter too since the author after five books made me care enough for him that I want some happiness and stability for him also. I used my love of crime books and tv shows to try and guess who the killer was but it didn’t hit me until like chapter eighty / eighty five.

You have got to be kidding me,’ Detective Scott Wilson of the LAPD Robbery Homicide Division said, as if he’d just heard the world’s unfunniest joke. The calling cards left at the scene in and around the body of the victims suggest something and someone with purpose, and someone possessing the kind of hate and evil few people are capable of. However, with no connection to the victims or the lyrics, Hunter after 10 days is no further forward in solving the crime. It's fascinating, yet even I, the hard core crime and serial killer reader had a few squirms at the way the bodies are dealt with in this book, imaginative but brutally horrendous and almost defying imagination. This is not an average serial killer hunt and the methods of killing have nothing average about them. As always, there are several red herrings given, to throw readers off from the real killer and the real reason of the murders. However, I find it very interesting, that the victims were not as 'innocent' as they seemed to be. The victims were all 'noble' and 'good' people in the public's eyes. One was a former DA, one was a former LAPD Detective, and the other one was a psychologist. The reason on why they were killed lies in their past ... and I couldn't help to think that they deserved their current fate.

This one also pokes fun at and questions our use the of internet and the detachment from reality it can bring. The hunt is on but this killer is cyber clever, avoiding even the most advanced searches for him on the internet, and the killer is cleverly avoiding being pinpointed by the most expert of police and FBI cyber crimes computer geniuses. He has the upper hand for most of the book, it's edge of your seat stuff. kartą į Los Andželo morgą atkeliauja moters kūnas. Mirties priežastis nėra aiški, nėra jokių matomų sužeidimų. Tik tai.. Jog aukai užsiūta burna bei intymi vieta. Atliekant skrodimą yra pastebima, jog šis tas yra palikta moters viduje.. This was one twisted, deranged, and disturbed individual. Even serial killers would stop short at this level of depravity and torturous methods, even if it had some dark meaning. I didn’t need to know the gory details of each crime scene, it was enough to tell me someone was tortured.

Table of Contents

I like my psycho-thrillers to have an atmosphere of tension, excitement, fear and if there is terror then I simply love it. The author did try to create a similar atmosphere from the very beginning but I felt that somehow he was unable to maintain it. The movie "Untraceable" was released in 2008 and starred Diane Lane. It had the exact same plot, in which a killer broadcasts his murders over the internet. This book was published in 2013, five years later. The killers in both even have the same motive! This book skates uncomfortably close to outright plagiarism! Do you believe the Devil exists, Detective?’ the officer at the end of the line asks. ‘Because if you don’t… I’m sure you will once you get here.’ Su visišku nekantrumu laukiu sekančios autoriaus knygos, nes panašu, kad Roberto Hanterio laukia nauja medžioklė 🖤
