The reason for more CTs is to track actual annual stats on energy consumption, it would be nice to gathe I spent about 5 hours thinking there was some way I could get it to compile on a raspberry pi 4 with 4gb ram- including switching to the 32bit version, but it still wont work. Your monthly bill gives you the overall picture, but if you’re looking for more detailed info you need a different solution. If I had the perfect world, I'd take the AI learning ability of sense, and the per-circuit detection stuff of the vue, and combine them.

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The sole missing component in the box is associated with a piece of hardware we have yet to touch on.Otherwise you could probably use an Arduino or android app running on a firestick of some other android device in the house that is never turned off? Emporia’s app isn’t as sophisticated as Sense’s, but its hardware does a better job of identifying where energy is consumed because it monitors the energy flowing over up to 16 individual circuits in addition to the mains power.

It's connected directly to the circuits you care about, like your furnace, A/C, refrigerator, or solar generation. Ideally I’d like the control to extend to a 3rd slave device which is only enabled when both primary fridge and chest freezer are off / standby and not drawing substantive current, and I’d like some time-based rules to only apply this master-slave control during certain hours of the day (or when mains power drops below a threshold), it just being able to master/slave two devices would be a great start. Yes, I read the thread about the Ecodan base load concern - I am not sure if there was a conclusive answer though?Never touched the Sense so I can't comment specially on it other than to say I'm so pleased with Vue and the support from Emporia I wouldn't consider anything else. Smappee EV Line is eligible for several grants, such as the Ozev grant in the UK, and tax benefits in Belgium, Netherlands, France. After installing and setting up the monitor I began using the app to gain insights into my energy usage.

Tbf I have one further minor problem - the tip of the jack plug has broken off one of the 50A sensor leads. It will do everything that you list, it uses a voltage transformer for a voltage reference, so measures power correctly. Pair the Emporia Vue with the Emporia Smart Home Energy Management system to automate your energy use and storage to meet your needs, comfort, and budget. I have an 'entities' card set up in one of my dashboard views and it shows individual circuits and individual daily power usage (and total daily power usage). A perfect case of functionality taking the lead while keeping all components very user friendly and small enough for the task at hand.

would the currents running through the live and neutral wires be added together or cancel each other out? My home has a very small electrical panel, so the electrician faced a challenge getting all the sensors and wires to fit, as you’ll in the next picture. I’ve been using the Emporia Vue for a few months now and it’s made me very conscious about power usage. I look forward to being able to set up additional sensors when I can get around to having the main panel updated to have enough room and finally troubleshooting the scenario of my microwave and toaster oven not being able to be used simultaneously. You can also view this information in the app on an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis, using a pop-out scrolling tool.

Anyone who has this hardware interested in working to get it supported with something like ESPHome or Tasmota?I found that with one CT on the main feed, I could seen what our base load was, could see the fridges turning on and off at night and also see when the washing machine went on etc.
