Awesome mic, still getting the hang of proper 'mic technique.' Something to note is that this mic sounds best when you are CLOSE to it. And as someone that has never before done that, it is strange. But it sounds amazing, and it is well worth the effort to get used to.Given that this is a mic that’s designed to be used when you’re on the move, RØDE says that rugged build quality was high on the agenda at the drawing board stage. To this end, it has an all-metal construction, from the body to the stainless steel mesh grille. An integrated swing mount is designed to provide easy positioning and improved isolation, and the capsule’s internal suspension should help to protect the PodMic USB from bumps and bangs. Nebraska was cut on crap equipment… It wasn't a proper recording setup. It was also recorded by somebody who'd never recorded anything before”: How Bruce Springsteen recorded his most important album in his bedroom with just a Gibson J-200 and a TEAC 144 Epiphone and Kirk Hammett team up for the Metallica guitarist’s signature 1979 Flying V – an affordable version of “one of the most important heavy metal guitars of all time”

Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. Read our editorial mission & see how we test. Tiesto’s reimagining of Tears For Fears’ Everybody Wants to Rule the World is everything you thought it would be After extensive research, I decided on the Rode Podcasting Mic for voice-overs on my videos. Used with a Focusrite Scarlette 2i2, it gives adequate volume for the intended purpose. The Mic is sturdy and should last for years. First response I had pulling it out is "Wow, this is heavy". Has a great feel and build quality. Sounds great too.

The PodMic offers sleek looks with a compact form factor that makes it the perfect addition to any podcasting and streaming setup. And its hard-wearing stainless steel mesh grille and robust all-metal body ensure it can take on the rigours of recording for the long-haul. Built like a tank is an understatement. Specifications I'm no expert but I'm told it sounds decent, it was bought for live online talk, gaming and streaming. The only thing that stopped me giving a full 5 stars is it can be a bit quiet so could need boosting either by software or maybe a fethead and to say it's got an in built pop filter I would still budget for a proper pop filter, I bought a foam one by rode. The construction is solid, it's built like a tank and looks awesome which is good for those doing podcasts which it was designed for.
