ATEM Mini has a built in hardware streaming engine for live streaming via their Ethernet connections without the need for acomputer. This model has the same features as the 5" 12G HDR model, with a larger 7" HDR screen, recording to SD Cards and external USB‑C disks, plus support for Blackmagic RAW from supported cameras. Even though ATEM Mini includes ATEM Software Control, you can use the Ethernet to control the ATEM remotely, anywhere in the world. Each of the 12inputs has independent 6band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, expander and noise gate as well as full panning. Onthe rear panel there are HDMI connections for cameras or computers or even gaming consoles, extra microphone inputs, USB for webcam out plus an HDMI "aux" output forprogramvideo.

The default setting for the streaming quality is Streaming High 6 to 9 Mb/s, which gives very high quality streaming. The auto button is aprofessional term that's used on large broadcast switchers to enable video effect transitions. The internal mixer features enough channels for each HDMI input so you can mix audio from all sources!You can customize the duration of transitions, then use the auto button for smooth and perfectly timed transitions. The ATEM Mini Pro ISO and Extreme ISO models allow you to edit your live event as they can record multiple video streams, including clean feeds of all inputs and program, all at the same time! Spending a bit of time within Blackmagic’s Software Control system will allow you to customize many of the controls. This means mic inputs can be adjusted to be clear and easy to understand while other inputs can remainuntouched. ADaVinci Resolve project is also saved so you can open your live production toadjust edits, remix audio and add colorcorrection! Thankfully, you can still control it over Ethernet, but you won’t be able to add it to OBS or any other software without a direct connection.If you have an ATEM Mini Pro or Extreme, these models have a multiview so you can see it if you connect amonitor to the HDMI out. You can also select the type of effect you want including mix, which does asmooth transition between sources, and dip which fades via acolor during the transition. A popular workflow is to use the Ethernet to allow the ATEM Mini to be positioned near the HDMI cameras, but the control is positioned remotely in aquieter space, such as acontrol room. Large 40x40 model zero latency 12G-SDI video router supports any combination of SD, HD and UltraHD on the router at the same time.

When connected, the phone will draw power from the USB port so it remains charged from the switcher. Plus you can generate multiple formats by recording from the HDMI program output in ahigh quality format such as ProRes, while simultaneously using the built-in recording to H. Lower frame rates also need less data, so you might want to switch ATEM Mini Pro down to a lower frame rate for better quality streaming and recording.

The internal Fairlight audio mixer also features ahighquality compressor, limiter, expander and noise gate on every audio input channel. I won't go through what this device can do as the tech specs on the product listing should be sufficient there.
