The XL1S features the exclusive XL interchangeable lens-mount system which, in addition to exclusive interchangeable video lenses, also makes possible the use of a range of Canon’s extensive lineup of EF lenses for EOS 35mm cameras when outfitted with an optional EF mount adapter. I'm not satisfied with it because there's a problem whit recording, there is a red flash shown while recording it.

At the time of this writing, I have not seen or used the XL1S for myself and user reports will not become available until the camera is released to the market.Pretty much any consumer camera can record an image with higher resolution these days, although it might fall short on other factors such as connectivity, low light capabilities, etc. We have both an XL-1 and a GL-1 here and in my opinion the GL-1 produces a BETTER picture (sharper, better contrast) than the XL-1, esp when using full-auto on both cameras. I have used it for live events with superb results, the batteries last so long that I have never used more than 1 for a 3-4 shoot leaving it on the whole time. Be advised that if you see Full Frontal hoping to see what the XL1 can do,Soderberg degraded the image during editing, going for a grittier look, so it wont tell you much. While I'm a big DVX100 fan (having owned one for many years) and it was a great camera, I highly recommend you look at a High Definition camera.
