A lot of your casters gain buffs from being near a Wyldwood anyway, like the Branchwraith so this incentivizes what you were doing anyway. B- Army Ability: Our Roots Run Deep –Subtract 2 from the wounds counter when consulting the degrading statline on Treelords or Spirits of Durthu. If you don’t have many other ways to generate a Wyldwood, this is a surefire way, it’s good to have at least one other ready to go if you can due to the tactical flexibility it grants. B

I know all your hopes and desires, mortal. Nothing is hidden from me. I can give you what it is you want. I can guide you along the darkling paths that wend and twine..." After the ages of war Sylvaneth have become untrusting of those outside their kind and aggressively protect their forest homes. [9a] Warfare In recent years, strange tales have come to Athel Loren, worrying rumours of Drycha's activities. On the fringe of the great Drakwald Forest in the Empire, the peasants tell stories of the trees that come alive, hungry for blood. On the edge of the Forest of Arden in Bretonnia, villagers gather only deadwood for their purposes, citing tales of other settlements found ruined and torn, the inhabitants left as scraps of tattered meat by the vengeance of the trees. To many, these events seem as senseless as they are apparently random, but if they are indeed the work of Drycha and her handmaidens, there must surely be a greater goal behind them than mere slaughter — though what that goal is remains to be seen. Alas, even Naieth the Prophetess cannot see the destination for which Drycha strives, for the road leading there is hidden by blood and horror. [1a] Battle of the Oak of Ages [ ] As stated before, combined with wyldwood you can relocate much of your force every turn if you’re smart, keep an eye out for openings in your enemy’s line.

A single-minded fighter, Drycha Hamadreth lays about herself with slashing talons and flays her enemies alive with the thorned slendervines that trail from her armoured form. Her unpredictable bouts of fury are as famous as her sudden melancholy. She does not fight alone, however, for she is the very embodiment of Hamadrithil's malice. Her form plays host to colonies of ravenous Flitterfuries (which rove out of Drycha in great clouds that darken the sky) and swarms of Squirmlings (that burst forth at her command to assail nearby foes). [2] [3b]

Oakenbrow Glade: The First Glade, their soulpods planted by the goddess herself, they have built a reputation for generosity and nobility but also, so some claim, arrogance. [4b] On the theme of painting, I’ve never had so much fun drybrushing a model as I have with the Hamadreth. Contrast paints shade the bark beautifully, so that you can come in afterwards with several layers of dry brushing where each colour is lighter than the last. Flittering ThoughtsNightbloom Garland – The bearer is invisible to enemy models that are more than 12″ from the bearer. A very popular take because all of your Heroes (Except for Aladrielle) can only cast one spell. It doesn’t give you another spell but it’s a chance to get an endless spell or Mystic shield off. B+ Jotunberg: Massive giants whose heads scrape the clouds, a kind of living winter that dwell in the north of the Realm of Ghyran, one dying giant saved Alarielle and her followers by spanning the Sea of Serpents with its glacial body. [3] Phenomenal, and almost good enough on its own to justify Heartwood, focus fire down that unit that’s being a real pain in the ass to make sure it never bothers you again. Oakenbrow is aimed toward people who want to take lots of big trees. It’s not quite like other “big monster” factions like Sylvaneth Thunder Lizards, as it doesn’t make them Battleline or anything, but accents running Treelords with a few small forces to accent them.

Another army which just across the board has been a bit too expensive to really be hitting top tables at events, these changes are very welcomed especially to the Troggoths. Is this enough for the army? Probably not, but as with the rest of all of this it’s a step in the right direction and it definitely helps and doesn’t hurt in any way. Ogor Mawtribes The Points Drycha had only ever known the spirit-song of the Sylvaneth as a discordant echo, a marred and tragic symphony of loss, grief and rage. As she looked across the clearing it thrummed inside her skull with insistent fury at the charred and twisted corpses of Spite-Revenants caught up in that terrible explosion. Some staggered through the smoke, their limbs aflame. A terrible, icy rage filled Drycha Hamadreth then – a fury that erased any doubts she may have had about angering the Everqueen. You get a whopping 7 different Glades here, which is sort of surprising for how few units are in the book. At least you have a lot of variety, most lists on the competitive circuit tend to look at Winterleaf first, and Gnarlroot as a secondary option for those who prefer a more magical bent. Oakenbrow So is she worth the cost? She absolutely can be, but at over a quarter of your list you’re losing a lot of possible units when you add her so if you do your army really needs to be built around pushing and supporting her. In the tournament scene she’s often overlooked and it’s understandable why. Drycha Hamadreth Legend tells of the everbeast Fengarant, and of how that colossus found himself one day with Eagderethil – the father of bladewillows – stabbed like a thorn into his paw. Tribal myths across the plains tell one version of this tale or another, but all agree that, in his efforts to rid himself of Eagderethil, Fengarant trampled a mad path across the Thunderlands and beyond. Finally, the everbeast stamped upon the land so hard that the ground itself ruptured and a titanic valley was formed. Into the heart of this rift, Eagderethil was driven and finally freed of the monster’s foot. That expanse, known as Vastclaw Valley, remains to this day. [3b] This can be iffy since you need to know if your opponent is casting a lot of spells or not. In a tournament setting you probably want something more consistent. D Army Ability: Malicious Tormentors –Reroll hit rolls of 1 for Spite-Revenants, who are a cheap fodder option.
