Although eye floaters are not usually a major cause for concern, there is a possibility that there could be an underlying issue so it is useful to know what they are and when you might need to seek treatment. Eye floaters can be frustrating and adjusting to them can take time. Once you know the floaters will not cause any more problems, over time you may be able to ignore them or notice them less often.

There currently isn’t a treatment to completely get rid of eye floaters andpatients have to get used to them. There are however medications that can delay the onset of floaters as well as two other treatments: Espada’s poetry has always focused on social justice, the lives of working class immigrants, and Puerto Rican history. In this volume, many of the poems are prose poems. In my opinion, prose poems are challenging to write, and they may be particularly appropriate for political poems. To begin with, small incisions are made into the sclera (white part of the eye) and the vitreous fluid is then removed with a needle. Instruments used in the procedure also include a fiber optic light and an irrigation cannula for suction. Once the vitreous fluid has been removed, the doctor will make any other necessary treatments that the eye needs and will then replace the vitreous fluid with saline or liquid silicone oil, depending on the pathology. The doctor may need to inject a tiny gas bubble into the eye to keep the retina in place.
