Compared to their earlier look, the oils are now round in shape and swap out the initial gold touches for a more elegant silver hue on the applicator handle. The formula glides on, looks high-shine immediately, and instantly nourishes my lips. After the Lip Oils fade, you’re left with smooth and soft lips. They felt more hydrated afterward, so that’s a good thing. Application A nourishing lip treatment formulated with a trio of plant oils to comfort lips with visibly plumping, high-shine results and a hint of color.

Fans of the original 01 – Honey and 02 – Raspberry will be glad to hear the namesakes for these shades remain. 03 – Red Berry, 04 – Candy, 05 – Tangerine, 06 – Mint and 07 – Honey Glam have disappeared as we once knew them, and they’ve been replaced by 03 – Cherry, 04 – Pitaya, 05 – Apricot, 08 – Strawberry, 09 – Chocolate and 10 – Plum. I saw these Lip Oils disappear within 1-2 hours. After 30 minutes to an hour, I had to reapply to regain the shine. I don’t think this is bad for a lip oil/lip gloss formula, but it’s also not very long-lasting either. However, they lasted longer on me than the Dior Lip Oils, which were gone within 0.2 seconds ( this is a little dramatic as it was actually 30 minutes to an hour top). Alternatives Did you know that one Clarins Lip Oil is sold every minute worldwide? With stats like that, it’s fair to say that the Lip Comfort Oil has secured its place as a makeup icon. But for loyal fans of this legendary tinted oil, it can feel daunting when you catch wind of a reformulation. The finished look is gorgeous, but there’s one downside: It requires a decent amount of re-application, assuming you want to maintain the high-gloss Y2K aesthetic. “It settles onto the lips, which is great for moisture, but if you want the gloss to last it does need reapplication more often,” Thompson-Tubridy tells Bustle. Having worn it out several times now, I don’t have to reapply it for that sheen as often as other glosses, but you can tell when the shine fades. That said, the moisture does last all day and night, so it might not matter if you prioritize moisture over glossiness. Worth It?
