The story is definitely sweeping in scope, covering many locations and involving a large cast of characters during an interesting period of history.This took me a bit longer to get though than others just based solely on the rich and deep history that the author was able to include in the book.

Unfortunately, the stories moved beyond the history of the War of Religion in France and we're left with a family drama story that is entirely boring.
