Description

The LP Alpine has all the features of the regular Lone Peak but has a hemp canvas upper with suede overlays. Places your heel and forefoot the same distance from the ground to encourage proper, low-impact form throughout your trail run. It’s very important to know your running gait so that we can advise and fit the correct shoes according to your own individual requirements. GaiterTrap: The self-climbing tab allows the gaiter to be fastened without any straps, thus preventing debris from accumulating under the shoe. The simple fact is that a running shoe will act as a shock absorber for your muscles and joints through its cushioning.

The roomy, rounded forefoot adds more to this cosy feeling, reducing uncomfortable friction against the lining. Anyone who knows me knows that a shoe (especially a trail shoe) without a pull tab is a deal breaker so it’s great to see one. Fans of the Altra Lone Peak 5 will be happy to learn that the Lone Peak 6 improves upon the previous platform without reinventing the wheel. The Lone Peak 6 has that classic wide foot shape with a sturdy upper, excellent lacing, and a promising grip. The upper looks like ripstop nylon but is actually a tightly woven mesh that is highly effective for keeping out sand and pebbles and even resists the puncture of sharp rocks and branches. Footshape toe box: You develop a better proprioception for more comfort and stability on ascents and descents. A neutral shoe makes up roughly 80% of available running shoes and have the same level of cushioning in the heel and the forefoot making it suitable for a large section of runners. It’s commonly used to help athletes run more efficiently and to identify movement related problems for people with injuries who are seeking new running shoes.

For example, a standard width in a men’s shoe is a D width but the 2E width will be wider around the bridge and forefoot allowing the foot more room and therefore not creating friction that leads to the upper splitting and not supporting the foot correctly. The newest iteration maintains the same fit with a last that favors wide feet, a zero-drop profile, and the same MaxTrac outsole with canted lugs in their patented TrailClaw design. This zero-drop trail runner carries on the tradition by offering a spacious fit and a responsive platform that still is better suited to wider feet.Quick-Dry Air Mesh Upper An update on previous versions, the quick-dry air mesh used on the upper part of the shoe is not only more breathable, but it has improved durability and security. Let’s see how they last over time but as things stand Altra Peak will be my choice of trail shoe for as long as they don’t change things up too much. Wrapping the feet securely yet leaving them just enough room to retain the wearer's mobility, their heel cups conform with the wearer's shape, enhancing the overall stability.

Maintaining the same stack height of 25mm as its predecessors, Altra have been able to increase the cushioning and durability of the midsole when it comes to the latest versions of the Lone Peak. This means the heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your trail run.
