Description

The D5200 should have taken a clear lead over the 18-megapixel 650D for details, but it took us a few attempts to get sharp photos in our studio test shots. Even then, the D5200’s photos were bigger but not obviously more detailed than the 650D’s to our eyes.

Taking a picture or shooting a video is not just about saving a series of memories, you also put in a lot of your own creativity to bring the moment alive in an artificial medium which by itself is no easy task. The D5200 by Nikon is a great DSLR camera with exceptional handling and exciting new perspectives depending on the kind of lens you pair it with. Matrix metering: 3D color matrix metering II (type G and D lenses); color matrix metering II (other CPU lenses) Center-weighted metering: Weight of 75% given to 8-mm circle in center of frame Spot metering: Meters 3.5-mm circle (about 2.5% of frame) centered on selected focus point As Nikon's 'advanced beginner' DSLR, the D5200 sits between the entry-level D3200 and the enthusiast-targeted D7100 in the company's most recent APS-C lineup. The D5200 offers 24MP resolution (like its APS-C stablemates), an articulated rear LCD and more physical controls than the D3200, but without the twin-dial interface and professional grade AF system of the decidedly higher market (and much more customizeable) D7100. pixel RGB metering sensor delivers highly accurate metering for exact exposures and provides precise data to the camera's Scene Recognition System The D5200 detects the main subject using all 39 focus points and automatically focuses on it. The D5200 can recognize human skin tone using "subject identification" of the Scene Recognition System for improved human subject acquisition.EN-EL14 rechargeable Li-ion battery (with terminal cover), MH-24 battery charger, AN-DC3 strap, UC-E17 USB cable, EG-CP16 audio/video cable, DK-5 eyepiece cap, BS-1 accessory shoe cover, DK-20 rubber eyecup, BF-1B body cap, ViewNX 2 CD-ROM, User's Manual Another change compared to the D3200 and D5100 is that the LCD screen’s default display makes it much clearer what the current ISO speed is, including when the speed has been raised automatically in Auto ISO mode. With three circular displays for shutter speed, aperture and ISO speed, it’s easy to see how adjustments to one affect the other two. The ISO speed isn’t displayed through the viewfinder window by default but there’s an option to show it instead of remaining card capacity. That concludes our look at the D5200's interface and feature-set. Now let's take a look at the D5200's image quality... The D5200 has a proper through-the-lens optical viewfinder with a magnification of 0.78x, on par with most of its rivals. The Nikon D5200's 39 auto-focus points are permanently marked on the focusing screen, whereas the compositional grid lines can be called up via a menu option. Two warning signs - telling you that the battery is running low or you have forgotten to insert a memory card - may also appear in the form of overlaid icons when appropriate. Below the finder is a traditional monochromatic status bar showing practically all relevant shooting information (including the ISO sensitivity, if so specified in the menu). The worst offender is thankfully not the most critical flaw. When switching between PAL and NTSC video modes, a message appears explaining how this affects the video frame rate options. However, this message is only shown for about a second, which isn’t long enough to read it. We had to repeatedly change the setting to give us time to read the message a few words at a time.

The shutter release action on the Nikon D5200 is surprisingly quiet, with a dampened mirror slap that makes this DSLR actually quieter than some rangefinder cameras. Furthermore, there is a Quiet Shutter Release mode, in which the mirror is raised fairly slowly to further reduce the sound it makes. This does, however, introduce some shutter lag, which usually isn't worth the few decibels of difference versus what is already an impressively quiet shutter. The images are fantastic, with so much resolution that the D5200 can push many lenses to their limits, however for advanced users, the D5200 hides too many adjustments behind a menu system instead of providing real buttons.

Nikon D5200 in The Philippines

If you're a photo whiz who actually uses all of his camera's settings, consider the D7000 for its more numerous direct control buttons, but if you're like 99% of normal people who have no idea of what all these controls do anyway, by all means don't waste your money for knobs you won't use and just get this D5200. I don't see any of the color bias I sometimes see in Nikon's newest 2012 FX cameras, the D600, D800 and D4, so to my sensitive eyes, the D5200's photos are usually better than those from the more expensive FX cameras! You will be paying a premium price for this lens, but the benefits and image quality you get are well worth it. To set anything about the AF system, you have to revert to the menu system. Even to change from automatic AF area selection to manual selection, you have to set it by pushing buttons and looking at the camera's rear screen. Katie on the table. The Nikon D5200's versatile 7.5cm (3-in) vari-angle LCD monitor provides the ultimate freedom and flexibility to take beautiful shots and movies from virtually any position. You can flip, tilt or turn the swivel monitor to get really creative with your angles. In addition, the Nikon D5200 is an intelligently designed lightweight camera, with clear menus and superior ergonomics, making it a pleasure to maneuver and shoot with. For reference, I’m talking about family gatherings, barbecues, and weddings. Besides that, it is also an excellent choice for street photography; unless you want a wider angle, you should go for a wide-angle lens.Prime lenses are helpful for many photographic situations, as they can be used for more than just shooting portraits, even tho that is their primary purpose. Wireless remote controller: WR-R10 wireless remote controller (available separately) Remote cord: MC-DC2 (available separately) GPS unit: GP-1 (available separately) Here's another hint: the only real reason to pay three times as much for a Full Frame FX D600 is to get a bigger viewfinder, and to have to carry bigger cameras with much bigger lenses. The pictures are the same! Low-light performance is top-notch, and with an aperture of f/1.8, you can expect images with precise details even in a pitch-dark environment.

An increasing number of digital cameras are now being shipped with features designed to appeal to those looking to get a little bit more creative with their photography. cm (3-in.), approx. 921k-dot (VGA), vari-angle TFT monitor with 170 ° viewing angle, approx. 100% frame coverage, and brightness adjustmentStandard, Neutral, Vivid, Monochrome, Portrait, Landscape; selected Picture Control can be modified; storage for custom Picture Controls The images were a little soft straight out of the D5200 at the default sharpening setting and ideally require some further sharpening in an application like Adobe Photoshop, or you can change the in-camera setting for JPEG files. The night photograph was excellent, with the maximum shutter speed of 30 seconds and bulb mode allowing you to capture plenty of light. Red-eye was not a common occurrence with the built-in flash, and when we did encounter it, it was very moderate and easily cured by setting the flash to red-eye reduction mode. I also found out that it works great for indoor photography because you can fit more of a photo in a single frame; it is an excellent lens for real estate agents who need to photograph houses. This is an excellent lens for traveling or photographic situations where you can only use one lens for different photos. It will do a great job and provide good image quality on many other occasions, but don’t expect to get the same rate as you will get with a dedicated lens in certain types of photography. As covered above, the D5200 is super lightweight, but often sentences advanced users to diddling in menus to make basic settings instead of just shooting.
