This smells very good, one thing stands in its way from being great for me is the intensely (hence the name) salty/aquatic nature of the fragrance. Its not really more intense in its performance, it's simply a slightly darker/denser version of the original. When first spraying this I get the powerful smell of the black pepper then transitions into a sweet and citrusy fusion of the orange blossom and the Amber. A clash of neroli and black pepper bring forth a glimmer of vibrancy and a ricochet of spice, creating a feeling of invigorating intoxication. Then, as it softens, you get the ambergris, the whiskey, which lingers throughout the finishing of the scent. This might actually have been the fault of the cheap little sprayer they put on their sample vials (a nice idea, but poorly executed in my opinion). Top notes are Orange Blossom and Black Pepper; middle notes are Whiskey and Laurels; base notes are Amber, Ambergris and Salt. Unexpectedly (for me) this fragrance scent is VERY similar to the original, despite the different set of notes.

Sillage is very good, it radiates enormously for about 2-3 hours, then decreases slowly into an skin scent. This one definitely my go-to office scent, it projects well but not nauseating, with 10hrs plus sillage and great skinscent that lasts 16hrs (if go without shower). The scent can be described as energetic, strong and lively, making it a great spring and summer fragrance. it not only hurts this forum, but it also discourages new members from expressing themselves and contributing to the fragrance community.In the mid you get bay leaf, a slight note in the open of the original but it is dominated by the whiskey note. I haven't smelled the original Invictus but I feel Invictus Intense is a more mature fragrance than the original. It's an instant compliment getter and is versatile enough to be worn day or night, casual or formal. Wouldn't use it during the hottest months of the year (too heavy) but does work well the rest of the year, particularly in cool weather. bad thing is that I wish the whiskey note was more noticeable but even with very little of it this is a great frag.
