Hey, asshole!” I shout to the Candlehawk player. She turns around, scandalized. So do the rest of her teammates, including a bewildered Tally. “My name is Scottie!” I breathe in sharply. I know it’s not a good idea, but I can’t pass up this chance for a moment alone with her. “Sure, okay.”

Hilarious and full of heart, with a sizzling romance. SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY nails both the hate to love and fake dating tropes with expert execution. I want to live in this town and be friends with these characters so badly, and I'm deeply sad that I can't." best friends danielle and honey belle are great supporting personalities, too. and i was amazed by the warmth of scottie's loving, supportive family. having sisters must be an amazing thing. Casi favorito. A cast of characters you'll fall in love with and a love story you'll be obsessed with— She Drives Me Crazy is one of my favorite rom-coms of the year. Trust me when I say you need this book." —Leah Johnson, author of You Should See Me in a CrownA deeply heartfelt and emotionally honest celebration of late bloomers, queer solidarity, and friendships both old and new. This book has a permanent place in my heart." —Dahlia Adler, author of Under the Lights. I hate that Tally has become a Candlehawk kid, but maybe I should have seen it coming. She was always obsessed with how things looked and who was doing the looking. Dating her felt like viewing my life through a photo filter. Sometimes I was swept up by how great we looked together; other times, I felt like the photo underneath wasn’t good enough on its own. I dig my sneakers into the court and try to focus on playing defense. We’re playing man-to-man, which is usually my strong suit, but tonight it’s tripping me up because the opponent I’m guarding happens to be my ex-teammate.

The classic, unavoidable, miscommunication trope (sigh). There was no reason for that, and the ex-drama that was randomly interwoven with that was also annoying and frustrating. I thought 2020 is THAT year for us gays, but it seems like from now on every year will be THAT year.Y'all, I loved this. Loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it!!!!!! Also like, this is a perfect book to use for the lesbian apocalypse. If lesbianism was a thing, this book would be the perfect model. ;P Tally Gibson was the first and only person I ever loved. She transferred to my school at the beginning of junior year with all the airs of the big city and a drive to prove herself on and off the court. The first time we talked, she tugged on my ponytail and told me I had the prettiest red hair she’d ever seen. The first time we kissed, it was like a flash fire ripped through me. Irene turns to me. There’s a challenge in her eyes, but a question, too. It’s like we’re having a wordless conversation, and when I see her eyes flit to my mouth, I know what’s going to happen before it does. And I don’t stop it. An absolutely stunning, but also incredibly important novel about best friends and discovering who you are." —Mason Deaver, bestselling author of I Wish You All the Best

A little sweet, a little sharp, this romance will resonate with readers looking for an emotional journey."— Booklist, starred review A love letter to late bloomers, Late to the Party combines teenage angst with first loves and second chances and emphasises that true friends will always be there for you even as you discover new parts of yourself." Scottie just broke up with her girlfriend Tally and lost spectacularly to her in the basketball game. And she is now extremely embarrassed. And there is only one solution to show her ex that she is okay. No not only okay but better and moved on.Outside, in the senior parking lot, I hike myself up on the retaining wall where people like to smoke weed. Tally will no doubt find me here, since the Candlehawk players insist on parking in our senior lot anytime they play us at home. In a different world, Tally would have parked in this lot every day, right next to my old green Jetta. Now she parks on the other side of town in a sea of Range Rovers and Escalades.

Scottie was TBH, kinda irritating. I found her extremely rude most of the time especially when she shouted at Irene multiple times. She is flawed yes, but this just makes her obnoxious. The narration of the audiobook by Piper Goodeve, was great. I felt like I watched a movie when I was done. All the characters came alive and felt like they had their own voices. It didn’t feel like anyone was just slightly different, instead I could easily tell which character was talking from their unique voice and this is a large cast since it takes place at high school, parties, and with families. Minus one dad character voice that was pretty over the top, I think this is one of the more impressive audiobook narrations I’ve heard before so I would easily recommend it. You would think, based on the fact that I’ve played varsity basketball for three years now, that I know how to score a basket.

This was just so heartwarming idkkk!!!!!!! The writing was also concise and addictive, so much so that I was able to read this all in one night. one of the book's strengths is its well-rounded cast of characters. scottie's angst is relatable, and her love interest irene is amazingly powerful. i loved watching their dynamic shift as scottie learns there's more to irene than her popular cheerleader mean girl image. their relationship is sweet and ridiculously romantic. and it becomes remarkably healthy, especially considering the fact that it stems from fake dating drama!! Neither of the girls showed any interest in men, yet they never once said the word "Lesbian". I used to never quite realise this in books but I can definitely see how harmful it is, so hopefully, this author chooses to amend that in her future books.
