Dimmable: Yes suitable for dimming LED lights. For GU10 LEDs we recommend the Aurora Ice 5W GU10 LEDand for integrated LED downlights go for the Aurora MPRO. We always recommend wiring as one way due to the fact that 1 wired dimmer minimum load is 10W,if you have another dimmer controlling the same light using 3 core then the minimum load will be increased to 20w. Available in 1 to 4 gang versions and in stainless steel or white metal finishes. The Lightwave Link Plus Wi-Fi hub (LP2) is also required which connects your devices to your Wi-fi network. With 2 way communication, the App always knows if a device has been manually activated or deactivated. Lightwave smart switches from the latest Smart Series provide you with an easy to operate home automation system. Set timers, scenes and more with this exciting offering that's LED compatible.

Installation of the smart switch is a DIY job, but it’s once you’ve connected your switch to the Lightwave app that the real fun begins. Create ‘scenes’ – personalised lighting configurations to match the mood you’re in, or the activities you have planned for the evening. A mix of blues and greens might be great for yoga, perhaps, whereas yellow might be your colour for reading. A rosy pink hue… we’ll leave that one up to you. Currently, there are no accessories for Generation 2 switches. Generation 1 had scene controllers to set pre-defined lighting moods, and dedicated remote controls. From the app, you just tap a device to toggle it on or off. For the Smart Dimmers, you can long-press and then use the slider to set the brightness level you want. Generation 2 devices display the current state, and Smart Dimmers return to their last set brightness level when you tap them on.

In some cases you may need to physically wire the switches together if it is a 1gang dimmer in a 3 way set up with 2 other 1 gang dimmers and no neutral wire is available to power the 2nd and 3rd switch (no load). Bear in mind that there are two Lightwave apps – (the Lightwave RF app is for the older series) which is confusing. While I was able to use the Lightwave app to set schedules it’s someone unintuitive to use – here HomeKit is much more user-friendly. In the Lightwave app, you can enter your electricity tariff and the app will then monitor your energy consumption. The Lightwave Generation 1 switches looked super-attractive, and the Generation 2 Smart Dimmers maintain the same quality build. Finished in brushed steel, the switches look every bit like high-end designer models. The only slight disappointment is that, currently, this is the only finish available. The previous generation offered a range of options. Two-way wiring can look very complicated at first, however, as long as your lighting is working well on your manual switches, it should be simple to swap to Lightwave’s Smart series. the "niko" in theory can replace the official light switch, but I don't like hard wiring it "on", hence I'm keeping the switches covered (unless a 3rd party comes up with ta product that has both the mechanical switch + wireless kinetic)

Scottish Highlands, areas which we class as zone 1 are post codes: AB30-38, AB44-56, FK17-99, G83, IV1-28, IV30-32, IV33-39, IV52-54, IV63, KW1-14, PA21-33, PA34-40, PH18-26, PH30, PH31-41, PH49-50 Philips Hue arguably offers greater choice for lighting options, but the downside is that its accessories and switches don’t look as good. If you want a high-end installation and are happy controlling normal lights, Lightwave Generation 2 is a great system. Lightwave smart switches are a range of multifunctional light and dimmer switches that are available in 1, 2, 3 and 4 gang versions. These intelligent dimmer switches can do a whole lot more than a traditional dimmer switch and are LED compatible. Smart sensor - automatically switch your devices off when the room is vacated and on when its occupiedVoltage: Mains 230V wires directly into your lighting circuit just like an ordinary dimmmer or light switch Or away from home? Gain peace of mind and use Lightwave’s home automations to set schedules for lights to come on at certain times to simulate occupancy. Two-way communication allows you to instantly see the state of each smart dimmer, from wherever you are. Better hardware and a cleaner app make the Generation 2 kit interesting, particularly if you want to use Apple Home. I like the wider LED bulb support, too. The Lightwave app lets you control the lights and even keep an eye on power consumption. Benny Har-Even For both switches, move all wires fitted to the L1 to the L terminal on the Lightwave switch. Move all wires fitted to the L2 to the X terminal on the Lightwave switch. Wires in the C terminal are not required and can be safely terminated or removed altogether. Three-wire system

First and foremost, I like the look of the Lightwave Smart Series Light Switches. They come in brushed stainless steel or white metal and feature a separate on and off switch with an LED status indicator. I went for the white switches since I didn't want visible fingerprints which the stainless steel model looked to be a magnet for, and the white color also matches the aesthetic of my home better (perhaps a brushed metal may look better in a more modern-looking home).

So the stairs have their mechanical switches but covered so guests can't change the "always on" switch underneath - and up/downstairs can be controlled from the remotes or wireless switches. At the first switch, move all wires fitted to L1 to the L terminal on the Lightwave switch. Move all wires fitted to L2 to the X terminal on the Lightwave switch. Move all wires fitted to C to the L terminal on the Lightwave switch. The unwired channels on the dimmer will just go from RED to BLUE but not do anything until automated. The spare channels on all of our dimmers can then be programmed to be wireless 2way switches by using the two way switching automation.

Lightwave also offers Smart Mini Relays so you can control things other than lights – door, gates curtains, and other circuits could be controlled via the app too.

Wired dimmer switches are wired directly into the lighting circuit just like an ordinary light switch or dimmer switch and are designed as an easy to install retrofit solution. A Smart Series switch can be programmed to dim either as a master or as a slave. This provides 2 way switching or dimming. Instead of needing a slave dimmer Smart Series can do 2 way or 3 way dimming which means you can dim the same lighting circuit from 2 or more switches (or locations from the room). So a 10w increase for every dimmer wired to the same light. If you wire it to only one channel and ask the other channels to be wireless 2way switches, your minimum wattage will always only be 10w so this will help when wanting to use lower wattage LED bulbs.
