Firstly, they are exceedingly fine and I did fear my clumsy fingers would break some as I removed them. Those feverish souls ensnared in the wallet emptying cult of GW, are no doubt suspecting that I am being somewhat less than impartial. Naturally for a historical kit, it lacks the special fantasy weapons of the Warhammer Fantasy universe.

State Troops are paid to serve as full-time, professional soldiers, ready in their barracks at all times to drive back and battle the enemies of Mankind. Yes there were Landsknecht but their were also other soldiers as well with a variety of uniforms and armor. They are more dynamic than the old ones, the poses are better, they arent hard to rank up (just plan better when you assemble) and i actually like all the extra stuff they have on, it adds character (something the old ones didnt have).g. you can’t do all feathered), and the way the spear/halberd tips attach to the hafts is a bit finicky, but it’s more than up to the task and a big improvement on the previous sculpts.

It is however precisely designed to fit all the options and requirements of the two troop choices of Handgunners and Crossbowmen for Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The more I studied the models the more I was daunted by the prospect of painting up big blocks of 30 or 40 of them. I get that someone might not want to make the kit partly of crossbows and partly of guns but go all the way on one type. For the other, excepting the issue with arms not joining in the middle, the Perry bits on a GW body look quite passable.The GW kit in comparison was fairly horrible for thick mould lines, which were hard to ignore and not so very easy to remove. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The new (relatively speaking) troops are characterful and their only downside is the lack of puff and slash but well, they're not wealthy. The problem is Bogenhafen is very similar with a half white half purple uniform, so I figured by doing the same colours quartered and adding in the black armour and accessories it would provide enough of a difference for it to be distinct. You also have the option to assemble three of the models as a champion, a standard bearer, and a musician.

Unlike historical kits which tend to just give you a banner pole on which to mount a paper flag, GW tends to integrate the flag with the pole. Loved this Keith Haring toy, it engrossed my 4 year old just as much as it fascinated me - hours of fun, and it looks so good too.However, if a noble sponsors a regiment, they make sure that their troops can be distinguished, using sashes, feathers, and other devices in their heraldic colours. These troops can be trained quickly, especially in emergencies, and can replace casualties without upheaval.

The soldiers are equipped by each province or city from its own armouries and therefore the quality and condition of the weapns and equipment can vary greatly.For my next army (whatever it is) I'll be building extra movement trays to swap out formations with. This can also suit soldiers who might be better off working other jobs while waiting to be mobilised. This would be greatly appreciated and would most certainly keep me working on and creating more of these projects. The torsos are in various degrees of armour which might create issues with WYSIWYG given the fairly limited options available in the army book.
